DBz
Alrite so I got a 97 civic, entire car is sound deadened, recently my passenger window wouldn't stay up anymore, so I tied something up inside the door to hold it completely up, now my driver side window won't stay up, WTF!!! I guess I can thank bass for this one, anyways, is it worth fixing the door? i'm pretty sure its the cranking mechanism (power windows) or should I just get 2 new doors? The wire unspooled off that shit. I can hear the motors they both work, but the windows won't stay up. On the contrary they go down. Due to the tight space in the door? I do it all the time for people and it's not difficult at all. I wouldnt say not difficult at all....maybe if you have the patience of a saint haha. its not hard to unbolt them and shit (depending on how they are held in, but most hondas are bolted in) but getting them out can take a little contortionistic ways. and those motors in hondas wear down all the time. it was doing it in my first prelude, and on my accord. cmamtower
its a honda issue, my windows have fallen out of track atleast 10 times in the past year and half, which causes the motor failure. but next time use so lithium grease on your window tracks and replace the motors and you'll be fine. not a hard fix at all if you know what your doing Quote apparently you dont get the fact that the subaru was wrapped around a pole. and by the status of your comment, im guessing your mouth is too. STEvil
If its the tracks letting the window fall out, brace the tracks. Quote MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
