P4Killer_'s first go at a 4th Order

Ever since my Skylark died I been itchin' for bass and so, finally I decided to do something small in the Monte Carlo Im driving. Me n my girl went half on a new car, 2010 Cobalt which shes driving, and since my car died- I been rollin her old car for now.

Lemme just say first I HATED this little build everytime I went to do anything, there were setbacks, something comes up, I had to do something else, this just turned into a nightmare and took me like a month. I hurried so much trying to get things done, and in result this is prolly my ugliest box Ive ever built. Not to mention, theres a bunch of things about the Monte that gave me headaches. All in all Im glad to just leave it alone for awhile, and heres the results:

As for the specs:

2 of these Fubars I got just sittin' in the basement

1 Crunch ~500w 2 Channel amp (40a fuse) Bridged @ 4 Ohm (Ill clamp it for actual output at a later date)

KnuConceptz 4awg Wiring 2 100a fuses

Sony CDX-GT510 H/U

I was planning on porting into the cabin, and sealing, however there is a linkage bar that connects the two pivot arms of the trunk lid. Upon first measurements, the box clears under this bar, but I later discovered when you close the trunk the bar actually tightens and shortens the gap there by making my height limitations smaller than I initially expected. So I first had the box porting into the cabin, and heres what the results are:

I Later turned the box around, firing against the trunk lid, which I expected to be louder and here are the results:

I tried to get a Burp score but my stupid H/U skipped and F'd up my DB Jams 13 CD So.. Ill try and Find another CD and get pics of that later. As far as score: I had a 136.7 iirc @ 49hz

But Ive got to test more on that. The damn CD skips right through my passband 35-57hz

+2db is a huge deal, and there is def room to gain, the air is kinda blocked in the trunk, again I hate this box, and I used PVC for ports that are not flared, maybe later ill get some good ports from parts express, and we'll see what happens.

For a daily, on <500w it slams def loud enough untill I can do something serious in the spring hopefully, I was just happy to play with my TL, it took me almost a week and a half to get it to work, I had to order an express usb card FTL. But Im gonna leave it alone for a good while and get back to Black Ops hehe.

Oh yea BTW idk why the new peak freq read 20hz and 21hz the rest of the window shows 42hz which is right. The song is Young Jeezy Thug Motivation 101 = 42hz

The window is pink cuz it aint my lappy, untill xmas when I gets one of those Netbooks :P

I designed this with an S factor of .7 , it was supposed to be a peaky design, but it turns out at least firing into the cabin, as my CD is messed up so I cant test firing into the trunk, that it does like a 133.xx from 35-50hz kinda interesting

That's a nice little build. It must be hard going from a build that needed 3/0 to a 500- watt system. You got good numbers on the TL though
