irpirate
update time!!!! sadly theres only a few pictures cuz my damn phone ran out of batteries. got back fro canada tuesday morning, worked on the box wednesday. its getting colldd in iowa. my friend lives in an apartment and his garage is just one of those ones that is away from the apartment so theres no heat in there. brought a lil space heater but didn't help too much. runnin some wire. 12 awg. barely had enough, leftover kicker saved me. this was just figuring out lengths, everything is zip-tied and tidy now loadin subs up into the car, pain in the ass. 3rd floor apartment. as i said, phone died. i got the last side on, used 3/8 inch bolts for terminals, got 8 subs put in, the ones near the back. it is awfully narrow near the end, getting the subs mounted was a major pain. more work to come on saturday or sunday. hopefully be able to get it up and running then, gonna make sure my phones charged this time *edit - i had to stop working cuz it was like 4 am and i couldn't flip the box by myself to mount more subs lol. hiiiiiiii2002 4runner - buncha speakers n amps n shit (gone)1994 astro - more stuffzupdate: pretty sure all the pic links in the logs are broken lol. ma slop garb build log16 12's 4th order4runner rebuild in progressclickkk meeeee!!!! 4 18's 6th orderUBL - clickyhttp://www.youtube.com/yyj11589 lots of hater kids here. irpirate
I'm definitely gonna do external bracing on the back., pretty sure I won't need more on the sides but might do some there anyways. Everything seems pretty sturdy. I didn't double baffle just cuz of space issues. Only part that I worry about is the boards that hold the subs. 3 dowels for the top board, 2 for the bottom, plenty of screws running along the side. Think ill need more? hiiiiiiii2002 4runner - buncha speakers n amps n shit (gone)1994 astro - more stuffzupdate: pretty sure all the pic links in the logs are broken lol. ma slop garb build log16 12's 4th order4runner rebuild in progressclickkk meeeee!!!! 4 18's 6th orderUBL - clickyhttp://www.youtube.com/yyj11589 lots of hater kids here. irpirate
the two weakest points will be the back and the part holding the clams. im thinking external bracing for the back should be simple. the boards holding the subs have the dowels. with the connections along the edges is seems pretty damn stable. the box is done, just need to put subs in. any suggestions on how to brace it more without taking anything part (which would be pretty much impossible) cant see it in the pics but i have another dowel horizontal in the split section of the ports. hiiiiiiii2002 4runner - buncha speakers n amps n shit (gone)1994 astro - more stuffzupdate: pretty sure all the pic links in the logs are broken lol. ma slop garb build log16 12's 4th order4runner rebuild in progressclickkk meeeee!!!! 4 18's 6th orderUBL - clickyhttp://www.youtube.com/yyj11589 lots of hater kids here.
