AMI CUSTOMS Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Share Posted November 19, 2010 Just made some phone calls, sounds like it is in the amplifiers, the 3500's since when I disconnect the main RCA, I have the noise at an isolated rpm, if the noise was at the full rpm range then it would be an alt diode. It is only at 1500 rpm, which indicates a filtering issue in the amplifiers, since I swapped them slave/master and master/slave and sound still at same rpm, conclude it is a input filtering issue in both amps, with no signal connected there should be zero noise. So I need to get ahold of audio que and see what they want to do, freaking figures man, once I get my blown sub back, I have amp noise issues now, wtf???? So I moved them to the same stud. Whine is still there, I removed one of the rear batteries. Sound still there. Then I unhooked one alt at a time and sound still there, so I know the alts is not the problem. Anyone else got any other ideas to try? That is my next thought is try one of the 3500s hooked up at a time and try them unstrapped both hooked, basically one amp running 2 of the 15's and see if it is still there, but I am 100% sure it is not being caused by the 4 channel amp and I am also 100% sure it isn't the RCA cables either, it has to either a ground issue or something in the one or both of the two 3500's. After a few days of testing and knowing I was losing connection power somewhere I decided to link all of the alts together with short pieces of 0 gauge and then connect that to the front battery. Fixed, all of the alt whine noise is completely gone. YES!!!!! That means you have the amperage from all 4 alts going though one single 0 gauge wire which i don't recommend.
