Slawsen
Power and ground wire MUST be the same size....someone explain this in detail before, but I can't remember the exact reason. Has to do with the flow of electrons or some shit. Could be the problem...i would put something under the fuse..screw it to a piece of wood so it doesn't melt through the carpet and then ground out to your chassis and fire ball of doom. hope that helps you have 8 gauge power wire... its like trying to suck a watermelon through a coffee stirring straw pretty sure its 8ga ground and 4ga power, but either way thats pretty mediocre for that amp. Using smaller than recommended wire will cause it to heat up also.. peacedisturbance
you have 8 gauge power wire... its like trying to suck a watermelon through a coffee stirring straw yeah i know its pretty ghetto so do u think the power going through the 4 gauge and its trying to ground but there isnt a big enough ground to ground it maybe its kinda constricting it and compacting all the power to the fuse block or somthing idk Quote Currently in a build 2 BTL 18s 1 AQ 2200 4 Kenetic hc 600s Pioneer AVH-P2300 (next purchase) High output alt 150 amps

Skullz
Using those fuse holders that you screw the wire down with are notorious on heating up and melting, use one that requires a lug on the wire before attaching to the fuse holder. Playa Named Joe
ROFL! wired down to .5 ohms with 4 gauge power and 8 gauge ground... You need bigger power and ground... the ground is just as important as the power wire, why skimp on the ground? If running that at .5 ohms, I'd run 1/0 gauge.
