my patented ear-o-meter method is simple.

1. reset your amp to 0

2. set your headunit to whatever level you'd be demoing at (the loudest setting you'd use with the bass turned up if you want)

3. I usually set my lpf to somewhere around the boxes tuning

4. start gradually kicking up the gains until you hear audible distortion and then back it off a little bit.

OKAY.... The RF 1500-1BDCP will STOMP the AQ all day. Im not afraid to say this because I have owned a lot of RF bdCP amps. The AQ is NOT an efficient amp, EVEN IF it did make the same amount of power it pulls so much current its not worth it. I have a O-Scope so I can help him with his gains, He has a 220 Iraggi alt and cant hold voltage. I had TWO 1500's on ONE 140 amp STOCK alt with NO issues. I have plenty of vids to prove it. I'm not bashing the AQ 2200D, For the price I'm sure its a good amp. "You get what you pay for" comes to mind here. I cant wait to get these amps lined up side by side to prove whats really good. RF amps LAST forever, I have a "sharkfin" from 2001 and its still a beast.

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

After Dan (Hoecard) invests all this time and money on trying to cram another alt in his engine bay and the batteries he would need he might as well buy a T2500-1. I don't know if he said what he is driving but its a jeep with very little room as it is. I would be more worried about trying to keep it simple and save some money at the same time. I would check out Sundown amps as well. I have heard good thing. Another reason why he might be clipping SO much is because he was running the 2200D @ .35 OHMS, this also has alot to do with the current draw as well. I have personally been in his vehicle so I know whats going on. If he picks up the RF amp I plan on helping him go threw the entire build and make sure he is ready for his nest system. I will probably be building his next box as well since he loved my old 15 box. Beside 350.00 for the T1500 is a STEAL.
