bobonit
No because they were getting hot b4 subs were hooked up Where is it mounted? Is it above the muffler or something? If no subs are hooked up, it should not be producing heat. If you want to test that theory, disconnect the amp (power and ground) and leave it mounted where it is. See if it gets hot. If it does, its just ambient heat and nothing to do with the amp at all. fritosaregood
Were the amps hooked up to power/ground, remote, and rcas but no subs. and you drove around with the amps on with no subs connected? That could be the problem. Im not exactly sure why but that can hurt amps. That could be the problem. Im not exactly sure why but that can hurt amps. If signal goes in the amp is still making voltage -- this can actually damage the output section as it can climb too high with no load. sundownz
Don't do anything -- just don't run it with no load connected If your amp is not shutting off it's okay thermally. n8ball2013
If the amp is not shutting off it's fine -- it is not unusual for a high powered amp that is putting out high power to be warm the man was spoken. Rainman215
Yeah i know its december but in october i drove to maryland -3 hours... it was a good 80-90 that day... amp cut out as i was driving i pulled over and it was sizzling. I didnt take the outside temerperature/play time into consideration and was just slamming it. And just make sure your ohm load is correct. I thought I had my saz3500 wired at 1 ohm ... but i didnt. Ive had no problems other then that with the sundown (which was my own fault) Quote My 02 Accord Wall Build 2 Sundown Audio Nightshade V1 18s --- 1 SAZ 3500 Sundown Audio 100.4 --- 4 Sundown Audio Neo-Pro 8s Sundown Audio 125.2 --- 2 Morel MD-12 Tweeters , 2 Selenium ST-200 Tweeters DC Power 270xp --- 4 XS Power D1200s | 1 D5100R
