HatersGonnaHate
Easy way to seal it off and notice a difference is by using pool noodles That's what I did with mine and I could tell a difference immediately! Do you have any problems with the surround on the subs making contact with the amp at all? But yea very similar... don't know about how they sound... the only other vehicle I've heard with bass is a cousin's single cab with two 10's sealed it's loud but sounds different. Don't know, I was thinking it was the sealed vs ported difference but my previous sealed box didn't sound like his does. Do you have any problems with the surround on the subs making contact with the amp at all? Thanks for the tip, don't know what they are but I'll look them up. Sounds like it wouldn't work though well because my sub box is the width of the amp plus a few more inches away from the opening, so I'd probably have to use mdf panels on the sides. And no, they don't hit the amp, they have a good ~2" clearance and the excursion on them isn't that much. An Audio Technix 18" Strato on a Kicker KX120.2 My Youtube Bass Vids Updates When Possible... HatersGonnaHate
Ahh yea, if you've got too much gap between the sides of the box and the sides of the trunk, pool noodles wouldn't work. So I guess the next thing to do would be to use mdf and do it right the first time. But see here's the opening and the clearance from the amp to the subs. I could move the amp back behind the box and push the box forward but I don't want to have it with no air flow in the trunk. meade916
by the way, seal that box off and it will sound much better......the reason it hits harder with your trunk popped is because without it being sealed off from the cabin, you are getting cancellation. Once the trunk opens, some of that cancellation goes away and the bass sounds better. Once the baffle is sealed so no bass goes backwards into the trunk, it wont cancel out any more. You also get the bonus of no trunk rattle. All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 1,000,000 subscribers strong!
