trulywickedcustoms
Im wanting to use some of my extra Memphis 8g for my 4 powerbass asa 600.4's the runs would only be approx 2' from the buss bars to the highs amps so since they are so short I was thinkn the wire would hold the load... Just wanting some other opinions on it.. n8ball2013
use the 8 gauge for speaker wire for your subs or someting. If you have to think about it too much it's probably better to be safe than sorry. I think it would be ok but 2 feet of 4 gauge is like 3 bucks. thecityxignites
i would go with 4 gauge, just to be safe. 8 gauge is baby power wire. FaTbOy911
I ran 8gauge from a converter to an asa 1500 it was lile 4ft away and nothing went wrong didnt get hot or anything Quote Had an estimate of 6400 for an alpine/clarion setup dealer said it "should" hit around 160db with the custom boxes he was going to make for me..doubtful with so much area to move but, budget is way below that any ideas on cheaper brands for that kind of Spl setup? really didnt want to try any Boss or soundstorm, thinking Quantum figure around $150 per speaker "$1800 total" and $1700 to power it, first actual big setup for the van. finkster
well 800 watts rms is on the borderline of 8 and 4 gauge. 8 gauge can hold 80 amps, but just bump it up a knotch and spend the extra couple bucks. finkster
sigh. Im unaware of any reputable brands for 6 gauge. excuse my terrible fuck up. Please ascend TWO knotches in the scale and acquire 4 gauge. Sorry if that was too confusing.
