cracker
lol well id say dont take your time with the resin mixed cuz if its warm where your gonna be workin it WILL dry pretty quick. you might have to mix a couple times to get an idea of what kind of dry time you have to work with. get used to that and it gets easier to work with. the toughest part i have is getting rid of the lil air bubbles when using filler but the glassing part isnt bad at all. like i said you might just need to mess with it a lil bit first to get used to it. plastic party cups is what i use to mix in. i take a measuring cup using water to fill the cup with how much resin i wanna use at a time, pour it in the cup them sharpie off the line. dump the water out of the cup, dry it out and you got it measured. well just a random tip i wish i knew of when i first messed with the stuff. just have fun with it and be ready to sand sand sand. better you sand the better the outcome. good luck March 2010 SOTM winner my old buildhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/50219-dank-aka-crackers-bonne-new-v2-build-in-the-works-hahahaaaaaa/page__hl__crackers my youtube page - http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=jackiedan04#g/u my feedback - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/56540-official-cracker-feedback/ i need tacos and bass to live!!!!! and will NEVER change hahaaaa TEAM NOIZE VIOLATION
Holden
I was thinking of using the mesh grill to use as a templet/base, then after i get the cutouts made just position them over that then wrap n resin that. Instead of using wood to get the contours of the panel. If i dont use that i guess i will just cut the inside panel were the speaker in now, Then use wood like i was planning on. skittlesRgood
my method is to use slow drying resin. then i can take my time, no rush, no wasted resin hardening up in the cup. then when your all done you put a heat lamp next to it and it'll dry up for you. If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. I just looked at your build. Great work i've seen it before but didn't notice the speakers. That is exactly what i want to do with the mesh grill. Do you have more pics or tips? Rigo
I did mine for my 03 Tahoe. The first time i taped off the factory location and made a mold where the grill goes. Then i added the rings and wrapped it. The second ones I did, i used the grille. it was alot easier this way. Just make sure u dont wrap it to tight. These are the first ones i did. @ 6.5's and to tweeters. I just finished these. 1 8", 1 4", and a Tweeter. "Da 2tone HOE from the 520"
