AA98hoe Posted August 11, 2011 Report Share Posted August 11, 2011 I pictured framed the outside edge of port with 1 1/2 abs cut in half then 45d at corners last weekend and gained .6 which finally gave me my 156 I love pvc so far using it it 3 locations has gained me 1.2 dbs . How bought dimpleing the inside of the box and port like a golfball it allows the ball to fly farther lest resistence through the air. It would be for better airflow same principle as him using 1" PVC but instead use 2 1/2" foam. Mite be a lot of wrk to test though THIS! I'm thinking if this work, it should work the well on kerfed and heavily bendt ports. I'm a little temted to try it on the enclosure i have in my room, all outer edges and port flare is kerfed with double 3/4" mdf. But i have also read that with spl you want to keep everthing smooth soo.. Idk, it's definately interesting. I don't have any kind of measurement device so it would have to be by ear, and as far as sqeezing numbers go, that's not very effective. It would be cool if someone could try this, cause I havent seen it done in this context before. Only place I have seen it as i know for sure it with B&W speakers.
