fecupe2001
If someone can refresh my memory on how you guys want me to test the wiring it would be great since i don´t actually remember it lol, i always wire the pos from one VC to the neg of the other one leaving me a single pos and neg , do the same thing with the other sub leaving me another set of pos and neg, wire each pos and neg together and that goes to the amplifier giving me a final 2 ohms load from 2 subs DVC 2 ohms I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Hunters21w
So what's your highest score from he first setup you began testing? Awesome thread man! I always find myself coming back to it for new tips. One question? What size PVC did you use for corners of the box? Might take out my 45s n try it! 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400

I always find myself coming back to it for new tips. One question? What size PVC did you use for corners of the box? Might take out my 45s n try it! The first setup started doing a 134.6 dbs on a sealed box, same amplifier, same electrical and same sub ended up doing a 143.3 The pvc is 4" and i cut it on 4 pieces, works awesome if you ask me hehe, glad you like the topic, i might update it in a few weeks since i have about 5 or 6 days free, should be fun I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Bakerman
Just to throw this out here. A friend of mine recently came into some money and went out and broke the bank with a home theater system. He bought B&W speakers and I noticed that they all have dimples on their flared ports. Not sure what the purpose of this is or what it does in practice, but if a company like that does it there may well be some merit to the idea: In other news I was inspired by a few of the ideas in this thread and built a new box right after using some strategicaly placed flares. I missed my tuning by about 10hz on the low side, but it turned out to be the best sounding box I've ever built. It was total fail on the meter since it brought my tuning down about 16/17 cycles below my proper peak, but was definitely worth the wood. The dimples give the air coming i and out more surface area to move over...slowing the air down, therefore tricking it into thinking that the port is longer than it actually is. Kinda the same concept as stuffing a sealed enclosure with polyfil.
Tinted
good thread for all the new guys. one should note tho, that some of the gains could be losses and some of the losses could be gains depending on the amount of power and cone being used in your particular application.
