How to put in an 2nd alt?

Recommended Posts

ok like what? it's a 1991 chevy s-10 blazer and it has a bracket for a turbo but dose not have it. so i want to to put a nother alt there. right now i have a 211amp alt in there. i just don't know how to wire it up for the 2nd alt.

a turbo? its really not too hard to do. Google how ot make certain alts into basically a 1 wire alt. Depends on the alt...ford 3g is popular one. i just did it on my jeep...lol

you need a dual alt bracket... first off

he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:

Turbo bracket? A turbo is run off of expelled gas....your alternator...not.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

your wire a second alt exactly like you would the first. Main charge wire to (+) battery, and if you have in exciter wire than that must be used as well (the plug on the back of the alt).

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

The wiring isn't the most important thing to worry about now. What are you trying to power?
