skittlesRgood Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 all depends on what is causing it. alt whine, bad ground, cheap amp, incorrect settings, etc. if its static and not reallt high pitched then a ground loop isolator wont help. ive talked to people that put a cap on one speaker wire to act as a filter for static. not sure what the value needs to be though. Im fairly sure its not a ground problem, i have done the big 3 and ground downt to bare metal on all my ground wires on my car, and i have a decent Powerbass amp so its prob. not that. and its not high pitched its a low barely noticeable hum. I probably should just not be so picky and live with it !!!

I probably should just not be so picky and live with it !!! Are your amplifiers grounded far apart? Try to ground them as close as possible. Are your RCA run next to any power wires, or noisy areas with lots of circuitry, the dashboard for instance? I probably should just not be so picky and live with it !!! then it probably is a ground lol. its always what you are sure is correct and dont bother to check lol. does it get louder with engine RPM or stay the same? if it stays the same it could be noise introduced through the RCAs. it doesnt even need to be running next to the power wires. cheap RCAs just let crap in.
