which sub(s) should i get for my truck

Recommended Posts

i have a 2002 crew cab chevrolet 1500hd and i was wandering which sub or subs i should get for it. i can have a custom box for under the back seat or behind the back seat. im looking for any size from 8"-12". i have a mtx tc8001 amp and wanted to choose between rockford, mtx, or dc or maybe something else in that price range. im not going to do competitions now but if it sounds good enough i may do some local ones sooner than expected. which should i choose?

here is a site with some sample boxes for my truck:

Sony xplod???????? Huh?

Look into Sundown as well

If it was me personally i would get either a DC 8 or a rockford shallow 12 or a DC lvl 2 or 3 12

But make sure you have the correct depth in the box before making a purchase

You know how you avoid that? Man the fuck up and bang her best friend sister mom cousin worst enemy and never look back.

JUST SAY ANTI-AUDIOPIPE

buy anything but make sure the box is strong, tuned and constructed properly cuz if it aint even the most expensive subs will sound dead. well i'd prefer u buy sony xplod subs as they're great for every type of music.

we gots us a trollllllllllllllllllll

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.

A lot of suggestions without a specific budget, the boxes aren't custom at all....hmmmm...I say actually make your own box but if youre set...

Looking at those boxes I would suggest two AA assassins. Only issue is they're D4, and I believe your amp is stable down to 2 ohms only...you could wire to 4 ohms and give each sub about 200 watts per.

Or get two pioneer championships, D2 version which are...like $69 each online and wire to 2 ohms final to get 400 watts per.

And both suggestions are for 10s

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

the boxes i listed are just samples to refer to for airspace and mounting depth and what not. and i can build my own box just dont want to build one until i have a good idea of which subs i need. i was thinkin dc 8s or maybe some shallow mounts but im not sure

ok, understood.

my suggestions stand as my personal opinion, love the AA products and the pioneers are cheap bang for buck. very nice subs
