billy101 Posted February 4, 2011 Report Share Posted February 4, 2011 I honestly wouldn't get one of them for the sole reason that you're unable to get discounted pricing for another 2 years, and you're pretty much buying an 8 month old phone. They're gonna release a new iPhone within the next coming months as we all know they come out with a new one every year; probably around July. In all honesty, the Android phones are WAY more customizable than the iPhones. Sure for the average user getting an iPhone is easier, because they've been around for awhile and people aren't as fluent with Android... My mom was contemplating getting one until I upgraded to my Droid X, and she got my original Droid. After using my original droid for 3 months, she is in love with Android and she is running a custom ROM overclocked too. She is in love. That's just my opinion though. I'm not an Android fanboy in anyway, nor do I hate Apple, as I've owned many iPods and will continue to use them in the future. I just think that for what else is out there (HTC Thunderbolt releasing on the 14th I'm pretty sure), and spending your hard earned money, android phones are a better bang for the buck, and you don't have to deal with Apple BS. EDIT: ADDED- @Freshmen6969 - I would definitely go with the Droid X. I have it now, and absolutely love it. Very easy to use and I can get approx 36 hours on a single charge, which I do not think an iPhone can do. @Derrick - I didn't think the Droid X could get any better than my first Droid, but it did, and I'm very happy with it and will probably continue to use it for another 8 months until I'm forced to upgrade..
