Triticum Agricolam
I've started another home theater subwoofer build, this time it is a Bill Fitzmaurice designed Tuba HT front loaded horn. For more info on the design see here: http://www.billfitzmaurice.com/THT.html I'll be using a Rockford Fosgate P2D2-12 sub driver to pound the sound! This cabinet will be 15" wide internally and will be built out of 1/2" baltic birch plywood. I'll most likely be staining the cabinet when its done so I want to keep the wood looking as nice as I can. Here are some pictures of my progress thus far: I cut the side panels 1/4" oversize so I can come back and trim them perfectly flush after the cabinet is complete. The second panel is being glued in. It required some creative clamping techniques to get good pressure on the middle of the panel. Triticum Agricolam
I made a little more progress last night. Started on the panel that holds the sub: I cut the hole for the sub and realized there is absolutely no way I can front mount this thing, bad Rockford Fosgate! I'll have to cut the hole larger and make a mounting plate for the sub, which is a pain in the ass, but is unavoidable. Triticum Agricolam
Well I finished enlarging the hole in the baffle and making the mounting plate, Rockford Fosgate gets -50 DKP for making a sub that can't be reverse mounted: Gluing in the screw mounting blocks to the back side of the baffle: "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:
