I think they look badass! The seats are gonna block the sides anyway. Cops shouldn't have a problem with it, I would be more concerned about someone staring at the T15K lights through the back window and running into the back of the hoopty! Somehow I don't see Chicken and Steve spending a lot of time stuck in traffic with this truck, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks James, I saw a vid on ROE where they tested back to back with a TL and with the knob all the way up it was a 15 db difference, I think. The guy is a SQ guy from what I have heard, so I am not sure if he uses the SPL measurement often or not, the RTA part might get more use for him. When you say "calibrated to" are you talking a reference range that it has to be in or a specific SPL measurement? If I ask the guy I guess he should know? This is the ONLY meter anywhere around here, so it's all I got to try. Not looking to impress anyone, just want to know what it is doing in general.

Guys I need some basic TL vs AC meter advice. Not sure how to search for this. The ONLY way I'm gonna get my PT metered other than buying a TL, (ain't gonna happen! ) is if this local shop lets me test on their AC meter. So from what I've read I can expect the AC to be at least 5-7 db higher than a TL. What about that sensitivity knob, where SHOULD it be set, dead center? All the way low? If the shop lets me test with it, I'll take some pics of the display with the knob position. I plan to try both HHR Eds bassrace tracks (at 40hz and 50 hz), Jeezy's Hypnotize , and maybe a few tones if they let me have enough time to play around. I just really want to know what I am working with, only way to get the sucker any louder is with new subs and amps, and that ain't gonna happen either! Just looking to learn something here by metering. Shop owner said that he uses the AC meter but has not responded to my question if they charge to let people test on it.

Yeah, yours motivated me to check out the Oakley frames! I ended up with "Sine" in blackcherry color. Had it not have been for my work discount they would have been just North of $500. Transitions are a love em or hate em kinda lense. I like them, they are better than I expected, I already knew about them from coworkers. If they would change in the car, I would have been 100% happy with them. Your Oakleys look great! I didn't look at the metal frames, cause my face is so skinny that polycarb/plastic frames could be heated up and shaped to fit me better.

That would be cool in trunk car with a fold down seat! I would skip the kicker's though!

Just wanted to post this up. I recenly bought myself a rather expensive pair of Oakley frames and EV 4.0 transitions lenses. I ordered every option I could get on the lenses and even with my government employee discounts these suckers were expensive! Knowing that the transitions would not change in the car (Windshield blocks UV light that normally changes the lense) I set out to get a cheap pair of presciption sunglasses to use in the car. I also wanted something that I could use when working out and on my roadbike, that would keep me from damaging my primary glasses. With prescription in hand, I hit the web and discovered www.zennioptical.com. They have really cheap prices! After a little more looking around, I decided to order some sport goggles from them. They also sell all kinds of frames. They are a great cheap place to get prescription glasses from. They take about 2 weeks to ship to you, maybe longer depending on how many options you choose. I orderred some flip up sport sunglasses. They did a great job on the prescription insert, I only added UV protection to the insert lenses. The plastic frame is nothing fancy, comparable to regular sunglasses you would buy at Wallmart. My total was $54 shipped! Keep them in mind if you need cheap glasses, need a back up pair for emergencies, need sunglasses/sport goggles, or have kids that go through a lot of frames.

Keep in mind that if you have a lowered car, your still gonna have to 'shimmy' under there to clean the light housings every once in while!

Yeah, I have 2 kits, one inside the car and the other outside The outside undercar kit is actually 2 strings of 5 LED pods each, single color, that turn on and off with the dome lights/alarm. The other kit is one of those million color LED kits that I put a tube under each front seat and the other 4 tubes inside my speaker tunnel. I like them, as long as you don't plan on driving around with them on all the time!

Don't know about the younger part, I'm 36. And you wouldn't be the first one to make fun of me for my looks. Now I'm more educated and make more money than all the dumba$$es who ever made fun of me, so who cares. Oh, and to keep it on topic, I still say the CD5100!!!

One note/competition car? Thats a lot of port! ...curious on specs, tune? Looks good so far.

You will need an add on GPS unit, it does not come with the CD5100, and that screen is so small, that you will have trouble using the GPS. I have a CD7000 mainly cause I wanted the active eq (like Imprint), 3 way active crossover and the full color screen, but I run a seperate GPS unit. I would say 5100 if the price is ok with you.

He's gotta good point, there is something kinda 'permanent' about a wall. ....if I got 5 cents for everyone that asks me if I take mine out of the car on the weekends ....well I would be orderin up some Steve Meade AA 18"s!

Learning to fiberglass pods is not bad at all, and actually fun. If you are unsure about glassing a door pod, would you be willing to try the kick panels, can an 8" fit there? I would not put the midbass in the back door, you are only making an obvious move of your soundstage to the rear half of the truck. Coaxials or components in the rear doors for rear fill would be fine, but you want the front stage to be stronger.

Is there a gaming system hooked up in there? It's already got the seats and steering wheel -- perfect for car racing games!

I just noticed the ducks! Assman might approve....but I don't think Chicken would...I am guessing that the company can work with a digital image to design anything. ...kinda thought Steve would laugh at this and delete it, but it would be nice if they could come up with something special for the Hoopty.
