One of your main problems may be that Jensen HU. Someone here told me that Jensen does not supply the right voltages to the amp like it should. Like it only puts out .5 volts instead of two or something. I believe that I have the same problem as you. I have to turn the gains way high with my Jensen POS in order to get decent output from the setup

Yellow top. On Optima's site they even say in their warranty, Do not use the red top for deep cycling, it will void the warranty so use the yellow top. -
Wiring A Second Battery.....
RamenNoodles replied to ptcary's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Ive always heard that just grounding the battery right to the frame of the car in the rear is just fine. Dont need to waste the extra wire to run it to the front again -

I have a red top and have been beating on it for about a year now. Those little foam circles on top, the one nearest to the positive post starts to bubble up sometimes after long periods of use and there is little corrosion spots on the frame of my car right near it, about an inch or two away from that I believe. Im taking it back to battery warehouse to see what the owner can do for me. But why is it that my car can only charge up to like 14.5-14.6 volts max? I see tons of other people in the mid to upper 15's with their setups? Is it just that Optimas cannot charge that high or is mine just worn the fuck out? -

15" Fi Bl Vs 15" Rockford Fosgate T1
RamenNoodles replied to 96saturnsl's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
BL all the way man. Both are nice subs but the BL will do wonders. Get the bish fully loaded and you can push 1600-1800 and the shit will sound amazing with the highs and snag some decent lows too. -
Sell the cap, and buy a stinger volt meter with it. Problem solved. Take the money you were originally going to buy for caps, and put it for like 1 nice deep cycle battery. Its like having a million caps. Go with a Kinetik HC 2400 or a Power Master D3100. Hell even another Optima would be 100x's better than a cap. I have heard of people having a cap on their system, then take it off and gain 3dbs from doing so. And like it was posted before, read the quote in my sig.

Most noticeable difference is the sound. Anytime I hear a cobra, I cream my pants. IMO they are one of the best sounding cars, especially if they are done up right. This is my favorite, but the guy is an asshole driving like this on a street. -

well are you looking at a particular year for a cobra? The 99 cobra R supercharged which is this Then you have the 2000-2002 cobras which are not supercharged have the regular GT stylings and throw out like 315 hp which is this Then you have the "Terminator" which is the classic 390 hp like others said with the supercharged engine with 4v per cl. Has a different rear end. It looks much better compared to the 00-02 cobra which has almost the exact back end of a regular GT. -
Lol I like how you tried to act like "your boi" was hooking you up with some great price when it was really a liquidation jewelry site that everyone has access to Thats like saying, my man who works for an audio shop is giving me the mad hookup on an amp that retails for 3,000 and is gonna mark it down to like 800 bucks. Oh and by the way, you can get it at woofersetc.com for the same price....

I hit a 142 with my 12" BTL with no big three or an alt with a single optima red top. That was on a 48hz tone to a Crunch GP3000D. Now I have big 3 done in 1/0, Iraggi 200 amp alt and will hopefully have 2 HC2400s in the spare tire well in my 2000 accord coupe. I do plan on hopefully adding another GP3000D and another 12" BTL hopefully by the end of summer but that might be pushing it. Im hoping to do high 140s with that. It really all depends on the car and what the cabin peaks at. Each car is unique when it comes to audio along with how you tune it.

My first demo of the asstro was to this song and all i can say is OMG. Scared the fuck out of me and i even knew it was coming lol. -
4000 watts will actually rape your lights lol. You need to do some serious electrical work before you go installing everything. I learned the hard way on my first install. Dropped the volts down WAY too low and caused clipping. The voltage dropped to around 10.8 by accident. The clipping will heat up the internals of your subwoofer and eventually blow it/them. Dont half ass the electrical. You will probably want to put around 1000$ into just the electrical of your car with an alternator, batteries, cable, terminals, etc.

Lol, all Iraggi alts will push more than 12volts. pretty much every alternator will push as much as you allow them to. It all really depends on your battery. If you have 12volt batteries you can put around 15.5 or so and if you have 16 volt batteries you will have even more. In your case, you have a 12 volt battery which you will want to upgrade as well. A simple Optima Yellow top will most likely work well in your case or the biggest Kinetik/Powermaster you can fit in there as well.
