For commuting the riding position sucks. For the track it's awesome. 800 miles on the tac and already on the 2nd set of tires (I burned off the first set on the track after 150 miles) -

Also, just to be safe...take a flat head screwdriver and check all of the hose clamps and check your tire pressure. On long drives the tires heat up more, so you want to make sure they have enough room to breath. If my tires max pressure is 32, usually i'll fill them to about 30 cold. For the most part, if your car is reliable on day to day driving, it should be fine.

here's the deal though...even if you drop the pan to dump the fluid, it will still be in the trans lines and the TC, if the vehicle was ever started. So if you don't completely flush the system you'll be mixing oil and trans fluid...NOT GOOD If it was me...well my ride would be blocking their bay doors when they arrived in the morning. That way there is insurance that my ride's getting the first look, since they can't move vehicles in or out being that the doors are blocked Edit: One item that I really don't get <scratching my head> is....there is only one way to add trans fluid if its an auto...and well that is through the trans dip stick. Now who in their right minds adds oil to their motor through the oil dip stick in order to get the oil and trans mixed up???

Don't touch the car. If they screwed it up, Call up the shop manager and let him know that you just called a tow truck and that the car is on its way back to them. Also, let him know that he is responsible for picking up the towing fee and the complete cost of fixing the car, since his techs messed it up. This is the only chance that you have for them to take responsibility. Kev

There is no drain plug on the Dodges. Chevyboy's right. Undo the bolts and drop the pan. All of the fluid will then start splashing out One piece of info you might need to know. By dropping the pan, keep in mind that this only dumps the fluid in the pan. You still have fluid in your TC and lines. So just be aware that you are not getting rid of all of the fluid, so that you don't overfill it.

Hate to break it to ya...Me Personally, I wouldn't waste the time or money in CA. But if your determined, go to a local gun shop and talk to them about the legalities. Question: Is the M4 Type "Post Ban" Carbine avaliable in California with removable 10 round clip? Answer: California State Law does not allow "assault rifles" that have pistol grips and removable magazines for sale in California. Bushmaster AR15 type rifles are on the banned list. My vote is for Nay. Typically people get laser sites because they "look cool" or because they think the laser will help them with accuracy. Neither are a substitute for practice. My vote is...get grips that are comfortable to you and practice, practice, practice. Laser sites are for noobs who don't know how to use the irons. (i'm not saying you are a bad shot or need practice, I'm just being general)

This sounds like a cool project, but isn't it kind of defeating the purpose of the LS1? This is a very light high reving motor meant for raw speed. A truck is heavy, has no aerodynamics and is not meant for speed and will need some major suspension work. EDIT: Sorry I did say LS1 not LS7..my bad. If the LS7 is tuned right it would definately work adequately, however, you still have to overcome the weight of the truck and throw some work in the suspension.

Turbo Noises
str86diesel replied to hnm3355's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
Yes the Turbo whine is normal. -
As long as when you're pulling, you are out of Overdrive....hellz yeah. I use it cruise control all the time towing. If you're worried about your tranny, what I would do is replace the hose to your tranny in which the fluid is leaving and put a temp gauge on it. That way you know what its doing. As long as the fluid doesn't go above 220 degrees, your fine. Off Topic: Call me mang...you will comin out this way in August? I might be on the road to San Jose around this time, so just trying to sync up the schedules

x2 the switch wire opens and closes the circuit. It can't just flip like that. But it's not hard for someone to pull the 2 screws turn the switch around and screw it back in place. I think someone gotcha one night after drinking some fire water... -
Speed Govenor 3800
str86diesel replied to rail07's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
What you want to do has been discussed on here many times and everytime the answer is the same..sorry. Bypassing the speed governor is illegal. The best way to figure this out is to pick up a service manual for your car and see how yours is wired. Many cars place this in the ECM/ECU, which means you will not bypass it. Kev -
No offense bro...but that's hillarious. A different issue, but very similar. Back when I had my 2000 ram and I swapped out my tranny, I actually swapped out my tranny lines for some that would allow me to put in temperature gauges. Unfortunately, I had one line in particular that I replaced about 4 times, as it would pickup a nasty vibration and would vibrate so violently that after a period of time would burst open . My tranny guy actually wrapped the pipe with some material (I have no idea what it was), but it actually absorbed the vibration so the pipe didn't. Can you do something similar to isolate the locktite from breaking loose?
