no. the 4g ive seen is good for like 400w unless they seriously changed something you wont get the full 1600w rms. it might not melt but you will get voltage loss

sorta... clipping blows speakers because they get more power and but don't necessarily move more so they don't cool any more then the clean signal ultimately it depends on heat so like he said if the thermal limits aren't exceeded the sub wont blow.... easy answer is to control you signal as much as possible and keep your amp and sub rms rating similar and you will be fine. when you get to overpowering a sub as much as the OP you dont even need the signal to be clipped to blow it. but it is possible to be smart and pay attention and run a setup like that for quite some time

have greg recone the 15 to a 12 and buy a second se 12. 2 will be alot closer to the power that amp can output ... a blown sub isnt going to help you any (ill take it for free) so might as well recone it and use it

do me a favor... are you tapping it on the sides and such and it rubs? but you push down in the middle lightly and no rubbage. because i can go in the shop pull out an sx from a box and make a scratching noise if i wanted to. especially if it vertical not horizontal what kind of box do you have and whats the port size/tuning? SX is a good driver oh and clipping on that amp will blow the sub. make sure ur not cranking it and your source (cd, mp3) stays clean
