  1. It happens. Keep trying to load or refresh it until it works is what I do.
  2. Sundown saz4500d would be my first choice. If not that then maybe a pair of saz2000d's. Other amps that I would consider running in a daily setup would be an American Bass 500.1, Cactus Sounds 7K, Atomic 5K or 7K, Stetsom 7kd, Hifonics Golaith, Rockford T4K, and DD Z1A just to name a few for ya.
  3. Thanks for the confirmation guys. Also thanks for the extra info Boon. I was hoping that another experienced installer checked this out and could tell me if I was just second guessing myself or what.
  4. This is the stuff I use and it's the poop: http://www.darvex.com/SW12-200PB/XScorpion...eaker+Wire.html
  5. Okay so that answered one question partially answered another and I still have 2 unanswered leaving me with no prediction yet.
  6. A couple of questions before I make my guess. 1. Is this in the kick with the door open? 2. At what freq are you burping at? 3. What changes were made? 4. Is this on the Term Lab meter or Audio Control meter? I'll take a stab at it once you answer these questions if you want to.
  7. Thought about pan handling? I see these people all over the city here and they must be making some cash cause they're the same people all the time. You'd think that they'd eventually go look for a job, but no they keep on asking for your moneyz. Then what trips me out is when they get a new sign to hold up or are sitting there eating a sandwhich while they're asking for money. My favorite one was a guy sleeping and had a sign proped up beside him with a sob story on it so you would give him your cash. I really hate this cause you don't know who's legit and who's a scammer. It makes me not want to give any of them shit. Hell it makes me want to quit my job and go stand on the corner and nap with a sign for people to give me money.
  8. You don't need to be a member to enter the event if that's what your asking. Anyone can come to the show and participate.
  9. No such thing as a 5" aeroport, so...... For 3.8 cubes I would reccomend that you use 3 4" ports to get enough port area for that size box. Also for the guy that asked the question about the box I don't reccomend doing subs up and port foward at all. You should do subs up port back or even subs back port up, but not port foward with subs up ever.
  10. Imo I would do around 3.25 cubes ported to 35hz. I would run approximately 36sqin of port if using a slot port and a single 6" flared port if you went with a precision port instead. Imo the 6" port will probably sound better and has the potential to be louder. It's only 8.7sqin per cuft, but since you aren't running a ton of power and have subs that don't require a lot of power the lower port area should help you.
  11. Umm, not that tight actually. It's about as tight as Jenna Jamison J/k man, but I honestly didn't think it was that badass.
  12. I'll break down material costs for you on a pair of kicks. 1/4" Mdf for template to mount speakers: $12 2 quarts of fiber glass resin at minimum: $29 1 package of fiber glass matting at minimum: $6 1 yard of fleece material: $6 1 1/4" dowel rod for shims to attach the template to: $2 hot glue and hot glue gun if you don't already have one: $3 for hot glue, $12 or so for hot glue gun staples and stapler if you don't have one: $4 for staples, $15 for stapler paint brushes: $6 or so depending on how many you need to finish rage gold or bondo gold: $15-20 a can sand paper in 60, 120, and up if you plan on painting or finishing in vinal: $15 paint, carpet, or other material to cover pods: $10-40 depending on what it used (let's just say a textured paint to match factory panels) So after all that you have a price of $108 in materials if you own the equiptment to build everything or $155 or more if you have to buy stuff to make them and go with a more elaborate finish on the kicks. The rest of the price is what you are charging to actually build the kicks. I can do a pair in about 8 hours and that doesn't include the resin and bondo drying time. So when I charged my buddy $300 for his that was a deal considering that most shops charge $60 an hour for custom labor. Even though I haven't seen a shop charge any more than $400 or so for a pair the qlogic kicks are way more economical and look awesome. The $300 is the minimum that I would charge and would be more if you wanted vinal or a super high gloss paint job which I can't do myself. I can do a textured paint that will look very similar to factory pannels. Here is a link to some pics of the a pillars that I did for my car, but ended up not using because I got pissed off and smashed one out of rage. The pics are of the pods before I finished the paint but they have the textured paint on them. They turned out great but fuck me for getting mad at them. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...8750&st=240
  13. Email Jacob at [email protected] and you may be surprised on the deal he might give you on a pair of sa12's. Tell him that you already own a 1500d and that sa's are the only thing that is missing from you doing some :hairtrick:
  14. On all my boxes I use silicone and then resin on top of that. Like the others said liquid nails will work very well and if you want to get a little more serious use PL. It is a sub flooring sealant that will never come off easily and seals pretty much anything.
  15. I can build you kicks but you would have to bring me the vehicle so I could mock them up. Where do you live at? Also I just bought some qlogic ones cause it's much easier and cheaper than building them. I've built them for a customers 2003 Kia whatthefuckever and charged him about $300 since it takes a damn long time to do. So I'd expect at least that much for yours no matter where you take them to get done including any shops around you.
  16. Woofers ect has them if you really want to pay the price they are asking for them.
  17. Why only a single 6" port? I don't agree with that at all. The least amount of port area I would have went with would have been 4 4" ports. Trust me as I am speaking from experience that a single 6 will not let those sub show their full potential. I am just trying to help is all, not trying to cause any issues what so ever.
  18. I'll put some $$$$ down that the Sundown sa12's will take a walk on the AQ 2.5's. Have you seen the numbers that Jacob put up with the sa8's? Over a 150 with a single saz3500d. I believe that he was doing 154's with 4 of the sa12's and a pair of 3500's and I bet that the AQ's won't even take that kind of power let alone put those kind of numbers up. Don't get me wrong I like the AQ subs, but for the money the Sundown sa's are the poop.
  19. I'm not sure if your familiar with relays but that is going to do the same exact thing as my diagram. Thanks for taking the time to look it up but you can interchange 30 and 87 in this case. I double checked it after I put this question up in the notes that I found and my diagram is going to work. Well at least that's what my notes say, but after seeing your diagram here it is the same circuit.
  20. Happy birfday. Get yourself a pair of Sundown sa12's. Them bishes get loud and will match up fucking great with that Sundown saz1500d. You will need a pair of dual 4's which is what the sa's come in and you can wire down to 1 ohm and beat the piss out of them subs.
  21. It's been a while since I've had to use a relay to turn on multiple amps. Next week I'll be adding the 4th amp to my car and I think that I'll probably need a relay to help turn 4 of them on. Here's what I've come up with and if any of you that have experience with it can say yes this is right or no you need to do this instead I would really appreciate it. Like I said it's been a while but I think this is right. I haven't used a relay for anything coming up on 3 years since I left the shop that I worked at. Thanks for any help and if this is the correct way I'll change the title of the thread and maybe it can get stickied so that others can see how to do this if they need to.
  22. My opinion for a new box that will keep rise down more than what you have now is starting out with 4.5 cubes and a single 8" flared port. Then if that's not quite where you want it shrinking down the box to 4 cubes and makking the port longer to keep tuning where you want it. What do you have your box tuned to now? If it's really low that is definately part of the reason that your rise is so high. The lower you tune the more rise and less power your amps will make. The higher you tune the less rise and more power is made. That's part of Jacob's success with boxes tuned pretty high and burping them in the 50's help to keep rise down.
