Send Jacob an email at [email protected] and see if he's got any used amps. A lot of the time he will and he doesn't always list them on here. On the other hand you could try Chris at Db-r too. I'm not sure what he has in stock though, but if it's refurbed it will probably be in the price range that you want to spend.

How exactly are you planning on running pvc along the bottom of the chasis and have it not be noticable? You could try some black 3 or 4" pvc. That would help hide it a bit instead of having a big white pipe running under your car. I can see it now, you get pulled over and the cops search your vehicle. One of them asks you, "Sir, what is the deal with the plumbing under your car?" Make sure you get a vid of it if it happens.

Whatever Jake you know I'd be as loud as you if I had that kind of power on my single 15 too J/k, but I may be That is a pretty damn good score from that beat up jeep. You need to just go ahead and make it an extreme car so you can reinforce all the shit that is falling apart in it. When is a good time to come for a visit? Also what do you and Brandon know about putting an alternator on cars? My car in general is a pain in the ass and I have a guy lined up but wondered if you and Brandon would be willing to help.

The bad thing is shipping a speaker box it is very likely to get damaged. I don't care how well you pack them there's always the chance that they will end up with a corner smashed in. Just ask Thumper here on the forum. He is in Canada and builds boxes and ships to the US. I'm sure that he'll tell you of quite a few shipping mishaps even though he's gone out of his way to package the box correctly.

Wow, those are pretty funny. Don't buy from James he is out to sell you broken stuff. I find that to be very irritating and I'd probably rip the guy a new asshole if I were you. I wouldn't take to kindly to being called a scammer and would let the d bag calling me so know about it. Oh yeah by the way I don't believe him just so ya know

Where are you located at cause I could easily build one if you are within reason?

WILL PAY - Subwoofer Box Builder OR Dimensions
Nightshade replied to BassBoy69's topic in Want To Buy
An aeroported box is much easier to build than a slot. All you have to do for the port is cut a hole big enough to fit the inner flare and pipe through and then mount the outter flare to the outside of the box. Precision Ports who make aeroports say to cut the hole for the port the exact size of the inner flare and that will allow the outter flare to be mounted properly to the box. So you have a guide that shows you exactly how big to make the hole for the port. You don't need 2.5 cubes either. I would say that 1.75-2 cubes is way more than enough for that sub. -

Nightshade replied to BassBoy69's topic in Want To Buy
I was offering to build you an aeroported box. If you just want a design I can do that too, but James had offered first and he is more than capable of a good design for you. I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes here. I just figured he's in Cali and I'm in NC so if you needed a builder I'd be the more logical choice since I'm closer. Talk to him about a design and if it doesn't work out hit me up. -

WILL PAY - Subwoofer Box Builder OR Dimensions
Nightshade replied to BassBoy69's topic in Want To Buy
I have TONS of experience with aeros and live somewhat close to you. If you'd be willing to drive to NC to pick up the box I'd build one for you too. It just so happens that I have a bit of experience with single 12 trunk enclosures too. I did a 143.6 out of 1 btl 12 and 1800 watts in my Escort about 2 years ago. Not too shabby, but that was a slot ported box with about 3 cubes of box volume too. It was tuned to 32hz so it did well for the tuning. -
For some reason...

Opinions on a 5-6kw rms @ 1 ohm amp for daily use
Nightshade replied to NoFearX18's topic in Amplifiers
Sundown saz4500d would be my first choice. If not that then maybe a pair of saz2000d's. Other amps that I would consider running in a daily setup would be an American Bass 500.1, Cactus Sounds 7K, Atomic 5K or 7K, Stetsom 7kd, Hifonics Golaith, Rockford T4K, and DD Z1A just to name a few for ya. -

Okay so that answered one question partially answered another and I still have 2 unanswered leaving me with no prediction yet.

A couple of questions before I make my guess. 1. Is this in the kick with the door open? 2. At what freq are you burping at? 3. What changes were made? 4. Is this on the Term Lab meter or Audio Control meter? I'll take a stab at it once you answer these questions if you want to.

Thought about pan handling? I see these people all over the city here and they must be making some cash cause they're the same people all the time. You'd think that they'd eventually go look for a job, but no they keep on asking for your moneyz. Then what trips me out is when they get a new sign to hold up or are sitting there eating a sandwhich while they're asking for money. My favorite one was a guy sleeping and had a sign proped up beside him with a sob story on it so you would give him your cash. I really hate this cause you don't know who's legit and who's a scammer. It makes me not want to give any of them shit. Hell it makes me want to quit my job and go stand on the corner and nap with a sign for people to give me money.

You don't need to be a member to enter the event if that's what your asking. Anyone can come to the show and participate. -
No such thing as a 5" aeroport, so...... For 3.8 cubes I would reccomend that you use 3 4" ports to get enough port area for that size box. Also for the guy that asked the question about the box I don't reccomend doing subs up and port foward at all. You should do subs up port back or even subs back port up, but not port foward with subs up ever.
-
Imo I would do around 3.25 cubes ported to 35hz. I would run approximately 36sqin of port if using a slot port and a single 6" flared port if you went with a precision port instead. Imo the 6" port will probably sound better and has the potential to be louder. It's only 8.7sqin per cuft, but since you aren't running a ton of power and have subs that don't require a lot of power the lower port area should help you.

Tell me This Isn't Tight
Nightshade replied to IH8PunkRok's topic in Tunez - All things music related
Umm, not that tight actually. It's about as tight as Jenna Jamison J/k man, but I honestly didn't think it was that badass. -
I'll break down material costs for you on a pair of kicks. 1/4" Mdf for template to mount speakers: $12 2 quarts of fiber glass resin at minimum: $29 1 package of fiber glass matting at minimum: $6 1 yard of fleece material: $6 1 1/4" dowel rod for shims to attach the template to: $2 hot glue and hot glue gun if you don't already have one: $3 for hot glue, $12 or so for hot glue gun staples and stapler if you don't have one: $4 for staples, $15 for stapler paint brushes: $6 or so depending on how many you need to finish rage gold or bondo gold: $15-20 a can sand paper in 60, 120, and up if you plan on painting or finishing in vinal: $15 paint, carpet, or other material to cover pods: $10-40 depending on what it used (let's just say a textured paint to match factory panels) So after all that you have a price of $108 in materials if you own the equiptment to build everything or $155 or more if you have to buy stuff to make them and go with a more elaborate finish on the kicks. The rest of the price is what you are charging to actually build the kicks. I can do a pair in about 8 hours and that doesn't include the resin and bondo drying time. So when I charged my buddy $300 for his that was a deal considering that most shops charge $60 an hour for custom labor. Even though I haven't seen a shop charge any more than $400 or so for a pair the qlogic kicks are way more economical and look awesome. The $300 is the minimum that I would charge and would be more if you wanted vinal or a super high gloss paint job which I can't do myself. I can do a textured paint that will look very similar to factory pannels. Here is a link to some pics of the a pillars that I did for my car, but ended up not using because I got pissed off and smashed one out of rage. The pics are of the pods before I finished the paint but they have the textured paint on them. They turned out great but fuck me for getting mad at them. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...8750&st=240
