  1. Funny how a shave, some glasses and a hat fix everything haha. Glad to see you're back man.
  2. Seriously? Maybe you should stop posting. So far, you've shown nothing of value.
  3. I love this one too. He's got some damn good songs.
  4. Read read and read some more. You must build accordingly, tune accordingly, and play respectively.
  5. Just like any component in your car, it will move around a bit. You won't need to worry about it unless your electrical connections on it are bad from the start.
  6. Believe it or not, I work for Enbridge and we've mobilized all of our American and Canadian assets to help with the containment. Nationwide, we have all been busting our asses to make everything as smooth as possible (including myself) and Enbridge has assumed full responsibility to bring everything back to normal. Don't automatically hate on us or point out similarities between us and BP. We have very strict regulations on the operation of isolation/safety/shutdown devices and they all functioned immediately upon the pressure drop. While the numbers are large, they were minimal compared to what may have happened. We are in full compliance with PHMSA and OSHA, and they have personnel with the investigation. Sorry for the rant, but I feel I need to speak the truth before the haters/uneducated start making comments. If you guys have any questions, I can answer them first hand.
  7. MDF is similar to paper gaskets for pipes. Dump water on the face, you'll be fine. Set it in water sideways and it sucks it right up. You may have gotten really lucky with this sheet.
  8. 4000W one one extra battery is assuming you have current to back it up, so going bigger or higher quantity will give you a pillow to fall on for misjudgments. Good luck bro.
  9. Or...you are not necessarily louder, you just got lucky with your orientation and you have a large standing wave right at your skull.
  10. That is odd. I've beaten myself up with the car and I'm consistently around 85+dB at work most days with our booster pumps, but I've only experienced what you are talking about a few times. So you're saying it hurts when they talk, but you can't understand them?
  11. Nah, jp man. The cheapest would be one of those Autozone alarms. They chirp and sound really ghey, but they are loud. They have both the ones you can relay off the dome lights, or the vibration sensors for like $40 I think.
  12. Doubt you've built a t-line to make that kind of statement. And while the fact remains true that larger=more efficient, there's a point where the box will no longer support cone movement, and for only one 18, that's not very much. The ratio wouldn't play out.
  13. Well...if you wanna go the cheap, but worthy route...you could try a couple coil stabilizers from JC Whitney. It won't make the ride much better necessarily, but it will give you the lift you need. You can also buy air suspension and air it up manually. No need for a compressor or tank. This is how I helped my PT Cruiser with 10 batteries and a VERY heavy wall. Got a 3" lift out of it, so now it looks like I had a 3" drop from stock lol.
  14. Eh...depending on your experience you could save some money and run a LVL4XL on that power. None of those subs really come alive on only 3k. If you're insistent on a choice, go with the LVL5 or BTL. The SMD will sound sick as well, but it seems like a waste of money to only put 3k on it unless you plan on upgrading amps in the future. Hard to say, but my personal choice would be LVL5 having dealt with Fi/AA and DC subs. They are all great choices though. Good luck mang.
  15. I lol'd. Congrats treo. It's always nice to land that big one.
  16. That ratio is just a reference. It is optimal for the normal everyday box, but you can modify it to manage your equipment. This is a perfect scenario when you would be forced to modify it to meet not only tuning, but power handling requirements. My box has only 5.7in2 per cube. =]
  17. Round out your ports as well to reduce some of the turbulence and maintain linearity.
  18. Here's the deal. Since you are trying to tune lower, putting bracing in will raise the tuning, but will increase your cone control. Unfortunately, with that power, it won't control it enough to overcome the unloading with the higher response, so you'll need to reduce the port area. Since you ARE running that much power, however, you won't have to follow any port size requirements. I say drop the air space as stated, close up the port a bit with either a divider or an extra port wall shooting for around 8in2 per cube, and you're golden.
  19. Definitely hit me up when this is done so I can take a quick drive down there.
  20. Who told you Memphis can't get parts? There's a new facility in Chicago that will turn over a 4kw in one day.
