  1. That's a beast of a computer, no doubt, but its a gaming rig through and through. Battery life sucks balls. I'd completely forgotten about this thread. Off hand, two computers I can point you toward are the HP Envy and the Dell XPS. I personally hate HP, but either computer should serve your needs.
  2. Um sundown!!!!!!!!!! Sundown no longer has a 4k amp. They have a 4500 and a 3500.
  3. strapped aq 2200s strapped dc 2ks. strapped crescendo 2ks. Did I miss any forum boners?
  4. Ripping in ALAC and sending the file uncompressed to your iPod works as well. I'd assume most headunits would be able to handle ALAC that way. I love the idea of FLAC, but until it gains more support, I'll keep using other formats.
  5. I doubt he's using these for a substage. That said, I'd like to see pics of these doors.
  6. A nice set of speakers? Completely doable. But relatively speaking they still won't be good. There is only so much sound you can get out of 1 inch drivers and 2.5 watts of power. Many universities offer discounts on office packages. There is also a website that let's you download it for like 50 bucks if I remember correctly. I suggest finding it elsewhere and installing it that way. If this Is going to be a computer you walk around campus with, I strongly suggest a 15 inch or smaller. I tote around a large laptop on A daily basis and while it is something I do because I like to game while I'm on campus, it isn't something I would suggest everyone do. 7 pounds doesn't sound like much, but when it's all said and done, you will end up with about 15+ lbs. on. Still, if you find the added weight something you won't mind, more power to you. Regardless, all this should be attainable within your budget, assuming you aren't looking to engage in gaming at high settings. What kind of battery life are you looking for? As an aside, I suggest avoiding a screen with a res of 1366 x 768 or less. Once you step up, you will have a hard time going back down. Trust me on this one. After you reply, I'll see if I can't get to a computer and give you a couple suggestions.
  7. Before you did the big 3, did you have this issue? What are you using to measure voltage? Are you sure the meter is correct? See if you can't get your hands on a known good DMM.
  8. Dude. Joo haz problem. That's low. Was it always like this or did it start after you installed something?
  9. Saying 3.5 cubes is way too big for just one 12 is an overly broad generalization. Those are dangerous, no matter where you go. And from the reading I've been doing, that may not necessarily be the case. And he's already built the box. And is trying to downsize from a 15.
  10. I'll see if I can't find the thread where this was discussed. Others will be able to explain it better than I can. Long story short, you don't get the full effect of constant power when run at 2 ohms. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/88684-what-is-cp/
  11. The CP series of amps also make rated at 2 ohms. You just don't get their full effectiveness at 2 ohm.

    Amp Damage

Is the rightmost speaker terminal melted? Even if I used it, I think I'd have to send it in to someone and have them look it over for internal damage. I know it isn't the same power, but I've clipped the shit out of my M1a for extended periods and the terminal has not melted.
  13. local shop got dblink for 80 bucks. 2k. will that be good to run with the crescendo bc/2000 He recommended DB Drive, not DB Link. From my findings the DB Link is small wire in a large jacket, no good. Touche. DB Drive is decent, not DB Link OK COOL. GONNA CHECK THE DB DRIVE, THEN IF I DONT LIKE IT GONNA GET THE KOLLOSUS Calm down playa. No need to yell. lol FWIW, I really, really like Knu. The only times I won't use it is if I'm doing something for someone and they are overly price sensitive. In vehicles I'll do, I'm using Knu. Stinger is good as well, but in my experience, it isn't quite as flexible as knu. I have some Kicker coming in and I'll let you know how that stands. The only thing I absolutely dislike about Knu is their combined RCA and remote wire. Stupidest thing I've ever seen.
  14. If I'm buying it straight from the company or a trusted seller that is also authorized and has a warranty, I'd do it. Off topic, but I know with Apple, their refurbs get new cases and batteries. I think the only thing that carries over is the mainboard and stuff like HD, RAM, CPU, etc.
  15. Link for mobile I really wish the forum wouldn't automatically make youtube urls into embedded video.
  16. Um...bit of a threadjack here. How do you mount non flared aeroports? Like, how do you actually get them to stay in the box without moving around? I know with flared ones, there is normally a flange that you screw down, but PVC doesn't have that option.
  17. Have you gone to their site? Not only is the amp not listed, but the amps they list there are also only listed with max ratings.
  18. Sonic Electronix doesn't even list RMS figures for the Autotek. So I'm going to act upon the assumption that its a crap brand. I'm not super familiar with them, so IDK, but that's what I'm going to assume. Also, completely toss max ratings. They tell you absolutely nothing. Most amplifiers that list max ratings also state RMS figures around half that. This amplifier says it will do 1200w bridged at 4 ohm. So I'll guess it will do 600 wRMS bridged at 4 ohm. And being that I've assumed its a crap brand, I'll knock off another 150 watts because crap brands also have a tendency to be over rated. So lets assume you're actually getting 450 watts. That leaves you with a 350 watt difference. The massive will almost certainly output cleaner power than the Autotek. All that I said above was me speculating. I could be completely wrong and Autotek outputs more than 600 watts of perfectly clean power. What I said below will stand either way. Would it be worth dropping the money on a new amplifier? That's up to you. Being that you said you were already planning to upgrade, I'd just save my money and buy better equipment in the future instead of buying an amplifier I'd only use for a couple months and then have to stick in a closet.
  19. IDK about yall, but round these here parts, that's an invitation for snakes. Joo can haz. Looks nice though.
  20. Looks nice, but where are the subwoofers? I want this living dining room doing 160s before the year is over young man! EDIT: Also, pics of mom. Sister too if you have one and she's over 18... :peepwall: But for seriously, it looks really good.
  21. So much win right here. EDIT: Wait a minute. WTF? That's not what I wanted to type. I just wanted to agree.
  22. It only took me 2 times to hate it... LOL... Now its time to bring in the armored glass, and concrete doors... WOOHOO... Stiffen that roof up, might help... In the TB? For seriously?
