ohms question
bobonit replied to HotRodHam's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
It doesn't really matter what you want, its a matter of electronic theory. You can not take 2 single 4ohm subs and get a 4ohm load on one channel. You will either have 2ohm or 8ohm load if they are on the same channel. If you put them on their own channel they will be 4ohms. -
Dudes an idiot, skilled or not. Its idiots like that who cause accidents. I'd rather see him eat a door or the back of a truck than cause someone else to get in a wreck. Just saying.

Take it easy Steve, let your body get back to normal. Glad to see that you came out of it ok, accidents suck balls. As for the people that said you could have done something to prevent it, you can't fix stupid. Some people just have rocks in their head, nothing we can do about it. Best wishes for a smooth insurance transaction!! -
External ports are fine. Plus, you gain the space back that the port would have displaced inside the enclosure.

going to an audio shop?
bobonit replied to craniumcrackinbassv2's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Like Boilermaker said, stop using that shop. The bigger 0gauge wire will not make it any harder for current to travel, actually the opposite, it may have less resistance than the 4 gauge. Resistance reduces current, not thickness. -
10000 what though? that doesn't look like US dollars.

Sundown SAZ-3500 Is Warm/Hot
bobonit replied to tsuch20's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
Good to know, I figured without a load connected and no current on the outputs it wouldn't be producing any wattage/heat. I learn something new every day. -
Not really. The main benefit would be that much extra net volume inside the enclosure. Could be from the extra net volume inside the enclosure which would drop the tuning a little.
