That sounds right. A tensioner pulley is an idler pulley that is adjustable so it can apply tension to the belt. An idler pulley is just to change the path of the belt.

It doesn't really matter what you want, its a matter of electronic theory. You can not take 2 single 4ohm subs and get a 4ohm load on one channel. You will either have 2ohm or 8ohm load if they are on the same channel. If you put them on their own channel they will be 4ohms.

Like Boilermaker said, stop using that shop. The bigger 0gauge wire will not make it any harder for current to travel, actually the opposite, it may have less resistance than the 4 gauge. Resistance reduces current, not thickness.

Not really. The main benefit would be that much extra net volume inside the enclosure. Could be from the extra net volume inside the enclosure which would drop the tuning a little.
