by thumping is it like a test tone? that would be an rca thing in my book. i had an old audio control 4xs go haywire and just burp like a low hz test tone when ever it wanted. then the next minute it would be ok. ended up being a bad sub output on the mother board. not the actual unit but the plug. the soilder came loose. i have only done a couple trunk escorts. sadly they where all prefab style box builds. no real full trunk stuff. i am doing a full trunk right now ironically. but if i was to play with it i would put the sub forward and port threw the rear deck lid. you will have to angle the faceplate a little but i think the opening is about 15 inches so its not going to be much. that or do a down fire bandpass. ports again threw the rear deck lid and acheive your sealed portion in a shallow large surface area across the trunk. im not really familiar with the treo subs so i don't know how well they like sealed life. but im sure there are plenty of people around here that are. so you want 4 tens. but cant fit them behind the seats. so your going to put them up high so you band your head on them all the time. and you can't do a blow threw because it will degrade the value of the truck......hhhrrmmmm? i think you're slowly solving your own issue. i for see the answer being you getting out of the stereo game. i have put these in several peoples cars. they are great. for 100 bucks you can't go wrong. im a DD dealer but also so i may be a littel bias. the shallow mount design with good excursion is a double bonus. the 25mm silk tweet is saft soundign yet still loud. only down fall i see to them is that audioque being the sister company has the adjustable slope. other then that they are identical. mounting and power. im about to drop two sets in a mustang fox body as front stage off the DD c5c. so figure that out. what is it about clean power that people dont get
neuspeedescort replied to jake1993's topic in Amplifiers
yeah but prefab is so coooool! its amazing the ignorance of some people. please tell me the two tens and two 12's where in the same car at the same time. it would only make this story cooler. LOL NEUMAN -
other then the adjustable tweeter db they seem to the be the same as the DD CS6.5's. i have installed 5 sets of the DD's in the last year and not one customer has been disappointed nor have i. i ran them in my daily for about 6 months. great midbass and love power. i ran around 120 rms to them and as long as i had my crossover set to 100hz and above they never bottomed out. 197.6 mph Lexus IS-F - Top Speed Test (Video!)
neuspeedescort replied to meade916's topic in Vehicles In Motion
the salt flats ruins cars! had a friend who used to live down there. he saw the aftermath of 200 mph run cars and what the salt does to the bottom sides of them. also the n2o and a supercharger aren't going to make him any faster on the top end. it just going to get you threw the gears faster. gears are gears poweradders won't change that. NEUMAN yea i didn't think about what the salt does to the cars probably eats them up also steve when we ganna see a 1/4 mile run at the strip? not so much eats them up. but just cakes them like frosting. then in the long term if not cleaned properly the eatting begins! Multiple components in the same door
neuspeedescort replied to neuspeedescort's topic in Mid's and highs
it is a budget minded build so i have the CS series components. he wasn't wanting to drop change on the germans and i'm a DD dealer. they are a slim mount design and are not super heavy with pretty nice output. just i know the 2 8's in the hatch is going to cabin gain like crazy and i have never run a pair of 8's off 1k either. so its a real cluster. but the outcome will be great. this i know! ok guys enough panty snapping. i most likely have enough room for two sets of 6.5's like originally stated. i may enclose the 5.25's or the scond 6.5 in the pod where i will let the second woofer breath. this is all in the planning stage in my head still. i don't have the car here yet. but i do have 5.25's and 6.5 components sitting on shelf waiting await the verdict. any input even if its BS is nice just to hear some opinions.
