  1. 2-3K are you kidding me? Are you talking about a full set of leathers and boots? That's totally unnecessary got daily driving. I'm not saying shorts and flip flops are an option either, but let's not go crazy Yes i'm talking about vest+pants+boots+handgloves. And i wouldn't reccomend leather, synthetics are better. It's more necessary to have full gear for daily driving instaed of on the race track since you don't have cars,trees,walls,... FAlling on the race track isn't that hard on you. But if you fall in a street where cars drive or in a corner and hit a wall or when you get hit by another car you will be happy you have full gear.
  2. You do know that a normal 'race' helmet will protect in a way a motocross helmet can't? Going cheap on a helmet is not smart. I'd say spend atleast 2-3k for protection, it's not like a car you know.. The better the protection the more happy you will be, trust me..
  3. DRauk.. Thats not what on and off axis means, please if you dont fully understand what you are talking about then dont try to explain it. To the op. On axis means that the middle of the cone is pointing at your head, off axis means everywhere else.
  4. If you get a good alternator from a quality alternator company then a 270amp or 300amp alt will do, with a few batts.(2-3)
  5. we're not all stupid.. To the OP, 2000w each is too much. You only have to look at RMS from woofers, never at peak ratings, those are useless. 600 each will be much better and 600 each is perfect, they don't need more.
  6. to answer first post. He set the knob like that because they didnt touch the gain. The bass knob doesnt distort a amp, it just regulates how much input voltage goes into the amp.
  7. in the vote dc will probably win, even without knowing which sub... Because we have more dc fanboys now.
  8. NO! use a 14 or 12AWG wire...it takes more power..than teh 16awg, and you have less chance to burn your speakers lol wut? You would have less chance of burning up your speakers when using 16 guage then 12 guage because resistance is higher thus less power to speakers. We do'nt even know if he uses a amp or not. If he does 12-14guage(12 because it's not really more expensive). But 16 guage will do if it's HU power.
  9. I don't see how it is tacky looking. not tacky. I think alpine looks 'tacky', pioneer looks more clean in general.
  10. Did they only package it with cardboard and paper?
  11. Last picture looks best imo. But why not follow your own opinion? You are the one that has to look at it every day over and over again.
  12. I have a DMM. I know it wasn't smart but I hooked it up the over the weekend and played with it for an hour or so. Using 4 gauge power cable from my old RF Amp kit, the Kinetik HC2000 and a Duralast 1000 CA battery I borrowed. The Maxximus has 4 hots and 4 grounds I kept each connection no longer than 8 inches in length directly to the battery. No alternator just those 2 batteries in the trunk played the whole time without dropping below 12.2v It still better to have a voltage meter in the car, those 20-25 dollars will save your amp.
  13. I would invest in a good alternator of atleast 300-350amps.(bigger=better) i think those amps didn't like voltage below 11.5-12v or above 16. SO if you don't have a voltmeter yet in your car, get one for 20-25 dollar.
  14. A dead battery can have a good floating voltage= just the voltage without load. If you add a load like a 500w amp it will drop in the 11 and 10v very fast.
  15. That one is better but you could buy 2 of the 50 amp ones for less then that And you just spread the load equally so both power supplies have to deliver about the same power.
  16. Just grab her.(from the back is a option...)
  17. I said 50 amps is not enough, so 10 amps will be worse. But that 50 amp power supply should work. It's not like you are gonna pull all the current that the amps are rated for.
  18. :orly: 500+ lbs of stereo equipment might effect your cars weight and tire balance. it affects your tire balance? lolz, that was the funniest thing i have ever read. And if it was aligned PROPERLY before the install it is not necessary to realign.(except when you exceed the max weight the car can support, but then it's stupid to drive on the same suspension which is not rated for that much weight.) EDIT: blackedout, then your alignment wasn't perfect. OR if it's a old car sometimes they mess up the alignment with added weight. Modern cars or atleast good(wellbuilt) cars don't have the need to realign after adding a stereo)
  19. Nobody needs to get a realignment after stereo. You do need a realignment after throwing different rims on it.(tire balancing too)
  20. Here you go, this is what i meant. http://www.stetsom.com.br/eng/DetalhesProduto.aspx?c=7958&cat=794 50 amps will not be enough to power it all.
  21. ground doesn't looks good. Is it sanded underneath that terminal?
  22. So that's 1500w? Well you could buy the power supply stetsom or soundigital has. I think it's soundigital but not 100% sure.
  23. You could probably get a better result when you glue or ducttape cardboard to the trunk...
  24. Could you say the dimensions? Because it wouldn't be the first time someone messed up.. 18 cubes is huge, but 2 18 is my choice out of those 2, best choice is 2 15's IMHO.
