*sigh* there are hundreds of options for a sub and amp combo. i just said one really quick. they are great amps and so are the subs. i didnt say "this is the best option". why not try to help the kid instead of picking apart my post or being the millionth person to suggest a funky pup? not trying to fight with you man, i just think we should help instead of nit picking opinions.

dont worry about these guys. for some reason most people on this forum would rather talk about stupid shit than actually help new members. mixing brands is not a problem at all. and forget about JL and Sony. ill tell you what a bad ass setup would be: 2 15" FI BTLs powered by 2 sundown saz2000s. but that means a high output alt and several extra batteries to power those amps. what we would really need is a budget if you actually want to buy a sub stage. feel free to PM me. ill take the time to help you out.

the tunnel makes the box a bandpass. look at how to build a bandpass if you want to tune it. if you make the tunnel too small the pressure on the face of the woofer can build up in the back of the chamber and blow those subs because they wont be able to move as much as they should. thats why you see people doing "tunnels" in a horn shape.

are you trying to power an amp off the HU power wire? cause if you tap into a wire that small you WILL burn it up. just drill a hole in the firewall and run the real power wire through it. dont risk burning down your car man.

well im sure its not 0amps at idle but maybe its only 50 amps. your car needs more than that to run so the battery drains trying to keep the car running.

that thread is 5 years old, hifonics could have easily improved the amp since then. ive always heard that they do put out rated power but have never tested one to say for sure.

a slot port takes up less room. all that empty space the circles leave could be all port. i dunno, ive tried both types of ports now and i like slot ports a lot better. 50x easer to bend a slot port too but good luck man. sounds like its going to be a pain to build this. hope it all comes out the way you want.

oh ok. maybe subs back and port through the rear deck. if your ok with cutting up the rear deck that is. do a slot port instead of the flared ports.

in a trunk car, subs back, port back is generaly the best. sub up port back is more for SUVs

use something to stop those dowels from smacking eachother. tie them together or fiberglass. those box terminals are a big choking point. useing bolts is a much better way to get the most power across. other than that, it looks fine. hope it performs well for you.
