my dog is just over 1 year old and he figured out a new concept all by himself... just like every dog, he's always next to you begging for food. recently my dog has figured out bargaining as a way to get food. after a few min. of unsuccessful begging, my dog will leave the room, find his chewy, bring it back to me and leave it on my lap. he wont take the chewy back. if i throw it he will go get it after a min. or 2 and bring it back to me. ive never heard of a dog doing this before so i wanted to see if any of you guys had dogs that do this.

not with bass. i pissed off a store owner once because i didnt fall for his bull shit. i went in for 10awg speaker wire, tried to sell me some shit that looked like 18awg but still wanted to charge me as much as 10awg. went to some other wire, said it was 10awg, charged more than what it should cost but it was still only 12awg. when i pointed out that its 12awg he got all pissed off at me. "what do you want?! i dont know what you want!" "fucking 10awg dude" "well i dont have it!" "why didnt you say that in the 1st place??" that guy pissed me off.

the foil was noticably thicker than dynamat and the backing seemed a lot better, itll break when you pull on it, instead of just going stringy like gum. it seems to hold very strong. im not worried about this stuff ever falling off. thank you Ant for the door pack. it went to good use. i just wish i had ordered more of it.

the joints arnt going to seperate. just make sure you have a good bead of glue on and you should be good. the only "overbuilding" i do is adding caulking to the edges after i get the box together. a box is strongest in the edges because it has support from a bend. the only way i see glass helping is by putting it in the middle of the board, or across the entire thing of corse. thats where it will actualy flex. i just think people are waisting time and money with some of these extras.

i dont see how more screws can do that. bracing, yes, screws... i dont think so.

it seems to me that a lot of people overbuild enclosures. i dont understand when people put tons of fiberglas on the edges of the box and put 50 screws through a double baffle. i used to think you needed a ton of screws to hold a box together untill i tried to take a box apart. it took some really hard wacks from a hammer to break the joints. the wood broke apart before the glue gave out. now of corse i still use screws but i use MUCH less than i used to. the only screws through my second baffle are the ones holding the subs in place. we add double baffles and lots of bracing to stop flexing. so with all the bracing, and the glue holding stronger than the wood, the box would have to flex so much that the wood, across the entire baffle, breaks/splits. im not trying to bash anyone thats done these things. its always better to overbuild than underbuild, but my question is: has anyone ever had a box fail because they didnt put more screws in, or fiberglass every edge?

oohhh. my sister had one of those. i almost bought it off her a few months ago. that back seat/trunk just screams "2x 18"s in a wall" without info on the subs/what you want out of a system, we cant really help you. we just need more info.

if your smelling electrical then your burning the coils. make sure your not clipping. if your subs are smelling at all, i would say that's bad lol.

just use wood glue and screws to build the box. wipe away all the extra glue b4 it dries. after you take off all your clamps, go in and use caulking on all the edges. then get some weather stripping and put it under the mounting ring of the sub so itll make a better seal. put the top onto the box first. its really hard to put caulking on under the sub cut out if you put that piece on 1st. fiberglass is not needed to seal a box. its just something people do thats a little overkill. in fact it could hurt your sealing. if you dont mix it correctly itll crack when it dries. thatll open up all kinds of openings for air. if you use dowels for bracing, predrill a screw hole on both ends to help hold it in place. i like to make indents into the ends as well to help the glue hold as strong as possible. add you wood glue and screw it into place.
