we actually tossed out two reel to reels and one turn table. along with 2 big dressers full of records, 8 tracks, and reel to reel tapes. lol. if I had records that I actually wanted to listen to I would being back a turn table... but I dont.
how many times now has the world supposed to have ended? first it was one year, then our calender might have been off a year so it could have been the next year now its 2012. we will see...
no, thank you. i paid someone else last week, they were supposed to ship monday. just found out he didnt send it until today and he shipped it through ups even though I said not to. its turning into a headache. wish he handled it as well as you did.
buzzing, sounds like an amp or RCA issue.
scraping, sub issue.
now figure out is its buzzing or scraping lol. you could make a video showing everything you just described
hahahahahahahahaha. it works.
i was told not to just plug it in and see if it works. the caps need to be charged slowly since its been sitting for so long. so i used a variate to slowly increase the voltage. plugged it all in and after it warmed up, it worked fine. there are a few little quirks so far but thats to be expected. its playing off the TV as I type.
remember when sealing your doors, dont cover the holes inside the 2 panels on the bottom. they are to let water out that gets in through the window. seal those holes and you just collect water and mold.
the amp will NOT protect if it clips. it doesnt really care if it sends out a square wave.
bass boost amplifies a specific frequency so having that up can cause clipping just like the gain does. just use a multimeter and tune it the rite way. there is nothing else to say.
do they? is it just because of the color? i mean these were next to his wood shop and EVERYTHING is covered in a layer of grime. i had assumed thats what all the dark color on them was but i dont know what to look for in a tube lol. the little guy on top of the amp is a reverberator. its missing a knob because he relocated it in some cabinet. probably wont be used.
glad to hear tubes can be cheap.
i think I know where one is. ill check in to that, thanks.
