when i used AGU fuses i would buy a pack of 5 and pull on each fuse, at least one in each pack would fall apart. you can pay for good ones but you just have to know what the good brands are. chances are the local shops wont have good quality fuses.

ya, the whole single source thing. diymobileaudio.com its another forum but its mainly SQ based. its a pretty useful site. they have links to ampguts.com and have a big list of free test tones.

i have a set of "full range" drivers. but they play up to 20,000hz but the response is shit. "can" and "do it well" can be quite different.

the usb should charge it. but i think the port can be .5v or 2v (something like that). the .5v wont charge it, the 2v will. my pioneer units have charged mine just fine but they were double dins.

i have those terminals and I hate the way they work. you wont have to worry about a wire falling out of them like you might with a set screw but getting them tight on the battery post sucks, getting the wires in and out sucks. and one of the "terminals" on mine broke on me so i couldnt get the wire out of it.

full length for the 6" ports is 17", they dont come any bigger. the flares dont fit on the end of regular pvc.

timing issues? well sure, one sub is next to you and the other is several feet behind you. the waves will get to you at different times. but with the amps... shouldn't be a problem. if the amp in the front has a "phase" dial then you can rotate it from 0 to 180 until they match. if its just a switch then it wont help with that much.

how did you get 5 cubes? i got 3.41 before displacement and 2.6 after.. i agree with everything else you're saying except the box size you're getting.. i'm dumbfounded... eh, i was doing just the dimensions he gave. internal would be 4.3 before sub and port displacement. i just did it real quick while i was at work. didnt want to spend much time thinking about it lol.

ok so the box is around 5 cubes and your only have 31 square inches of port. that gives about 6 square inches per cubic foot, you need at least 12 square inches per cubic foot. that will make the biggest difference for you at the moment. thats just rough math but it clearly points out your weak point. since the seats do not fold down i would, if you havnt already, take the speakers out of the rear deck. they wont do you much good for music anyways and it will let a lot more bass into the cabin.

so without knowing what size his current box is, and he is overpowering the sub already, you say go bigger? so if he is actually at the mechanical limits of the sub (you dont know) then he goes bigger and fucks up the sub.... mmmmm k. lol. im bustin your balls a little bit here but lets get more info before we just throw out "what he should do" can you show us pics of your current box and list dimensions? need to know the port size as well.

could be as simple as a crossover or as complex as a processor. list the types and locations of the speakers.

you guys kidding me? two d1 coils can not be wired to 2ohm. its 1ohm or 4ohm. that or each speaker can be wired to .5ohm or 2ohm.

hell yes there is a benefit going active. the only 2 up sides to passive is that it takes half the channels and you dont need to know shit about crossover points. its just simple. going active will yield better SQ, higher volumes (because the passive xover takes up a lot of power) and MUCH more customization.
