What are some good qualities to look for in a component set that you are going to run active...

Individual driver power handling and the way they sound (to you). Everyone will hear different speakers differently. I like warmth and power, like you would hear at a concert.

If you plan on running just active and/or willing to fab, I say look at raw drivers at Parts-Express or Madisound
