  1. Crank dat batman - pop it off boys Still a good song in my book, not a very well known one either.
  2. There is a nasty lvl 5 for sale in the FS section, buy that!
  3. I know my stock alternatoe charges at 14.9, no problems at all.. But a question for the un-informed (me) On aftermarket alternators you can set where you want it to charge? Or is this like a setting you choose when you order it? lol, thanks!
  4. look good? And will i need an x-over? or will the settings on the amp suffice? Im thinking i will need some kind of tuning hardware to bandbass the mids, just dont know what.
  5. Alright... so after tossing it around in my head for a couple months i think i have finally figured out what i want to get. My DC 175.4 will be powering 8 (2 per channel) Selenium 6W4P's http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=264-422&scqty=8 I will purchase a Sundown 125.2 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SAX%252d125.2.html The 125.2 will power 2 sets of these tweeters... http://www.audiosavings.com/products/Website/PAIR-NEW-CADENCE-ZXT40-SILK-DOME-1.2-NEO-CAR-TWEETERS/ZXT40.aspx I DO NEED SOME HELP THOUGH =] Can you guys maybe recommend some tweeters that are around that same price point instead of those? I have never really heard good/bad about cadence. Also, will i need a crossover capable of letting the 175.4 push the seleniums from ~80h - ~3.5khz, and the 125.2 running the tweets from ~3500khz and up? Recommend it for me, that would be great =]
  6. I had the same problem with my car... In my vehicle it was the sunroof drain tubes. one of them disconnected near the trunk and filled up the spare tire wheel well... Water inside of the vehicle is NEVER as easy as you want it to be. CHECK EVERYTHING, lol.
  7. Ignore everyone who is giving you shit.. If YOU will enjoy it, and YOU think it's cool, DO IT!! Looks like it could be a fun project! And hey, make a little money off it, even better!
  8. Because if i want a product that will last me a couple years i should go with a brand name. Really dont understand your point there... Coax vs Comp... what you basically just said is if your not buying components, your getting shit. Maybe thats how you meant it to sound, maybe not. Sorry for asking a question in hopes of getting technical answers.
  9. I was interested in the sound wave aspect of things, but i read somewhere that some coaxials have nearly eliminated this problem by lifting the tweeter further away from the cone. More specifically the new RF power coaxials. (look at the spec sheet on the RF website for a description better than the one i gave) I guess my main reason for asking this was because i could save close to $300 if i went with two sets of components, and 2 sets of coaxials. Would it really be a terrible idea? Another thing that is throwing me off is the HPF on some component sets. Some go as low as 45hz, and some others like RF power comps have a HPF set closer to 100hz. EDIT: im sure components are better in nearly every way, but say im not trying to make people go "wow that sounds as if jesus himself is singing to me"... Will i realy notice a huge difference in comps vs coax from the same series of speakers. Some of us just cant afford to go balls to the wall with 4 sets of components, lol.
  10. Fiberglass resin / mat. Body fillers, brushes, sandpaper... Stuff like that!
  11. The guys over at Techforce have "Frankenstein" two 18" DC subs, and two 15" AQ subs... and i have never seen it get a bad review... lol. Each brand is in its enclosure tuned to individual levels... I think one box is tuned to low 30's and the other is tuned to 40hz. I know the feeling of being in HS and just wanting some bass... Im sure you dont really care about having a "perfect" system at this point in your life.. When i was in highschool i was just happy to have a system in my car, it got me into car audio. And when i got a little older i was capable of spending more $$, and doing it "right" You already have two pretty good subs in those kickers... Build them a better ported box, and throw them on a quality amp (AQ, sundown, DC) you wont be disappointed. Your probably 16-17... just use what you have to make car audio a passion, you invest too much in it so early and you might end up despising it, lol. Contact the guys at techforce and ask them about frankenstein, im sure they will explain it better for you.
  12. Alright, so im about to redo my front doors. Im going to be doing 4 speakers in each door... After a bunch of reading i just honestly do not understand what makes components so much better than Coaxials. I understand that Components generally allow for better staging due to the fact that the tweeters can be moved... If i am not mistaken coaxials have a built in crossover that should in theory do the same thing that a crossover on components speakers would do... And with HPF's set on the amp, canceling out the lows would not be an issue at all. Some component sets are even "transformable", which basically lets you mount the tweet on the mid-bass. Essentially turning them into coaxials. I know people are going to swarm in here saying HERP COMPONENTS ARE BETTER DERP. But if that is going to be your answer, can you possibly give me your PERSONAL experiences, not just what you saw on YouTube. The cost difference in components v/s coaxials is large enough for me to pose this question. (especially when buying multiple sets. If possible i might end up getting 2 sets of components and place the tweeters up high for staging purposes, and then getting 2 pairs of coaxials as well. They would obiously be speakers from the same series (RF power comps/coaxs', or Infinity Kappa Perfect Coms/coaxs') I look forward to hearing your informed opinions! Thanks
  13. I have literally played this song full tilt on multiple occasions.... SSSSHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
  14. Gonna bump this so i can hopefully get an answer without making a new topic! Thanks
  15. he posted this april 14th "i think i already stated somewhere what is going on. for the first run, we only ordered 10, fully functional, manufactured units (aka, NOT a prototype). We are going to get a few out there and see how it goes. Its 100% successful on our end but you never know until the "people" get it and put it to the test. We want to make SURE everything is perfect before we go buck wild and order a large batch. that being said, when you order such a small quantity, its always going to be more. In our case the cost is triple what it will be when we do order a bigger batch. I will break even on the one or 2 that i sell and the other few (i got 5 he got 5) will be sent out to a couple hand chosen "beta testers". stay patient guys, im very VERY glad it has gotten this much attention and you guys all want one.......but i dont want a product that isnt 100% tested and ready. In other words we are trying not to FAIL. hahaha.. thanks guys, i will keep you posted for sure."
  16. Thanks again for all the help... This is the first vehicle in which i will be eliminating my rear stage, so i have a few question (did not want to start a new topic) Is the DC 175.4 Bridgeable? Because if it is i would have channels 1/2 run the left side, and channels 3/4 run the right sad I dont think it is, but i had to ask... If it's not: When dealing with RCA's do i simply split the front channels (1/2) from the HU into all 4 (1/2/3/4) amp inputs? And when wiring components sets in parallel, how does that work? Are the wiring changes done at the two crossovers?
  17. Thanks man! I will see how much of that i can find on Amazon, the guy above you gave some good links, i will just get more than 1 quart of each. And i plan on hawk eying the fabrication section for the next week or 2, i want to do this right. I just wanted to buy everything first!
  18. Im assuming i will also need a hardener for the resin you recommended? EDIT: NVM saw that it came with some... im doing the lower sections of 2 door panels... How much do you think i will need?
  19. So i decided on finally doing my first set of door panels. Going with 4 sets of Crescendo 6.5's running at 2 ohms powered by my DC 175.4 I have a bunch of Amazon giftcards that i need to use. The reason i made this thread is because im not sure exactly what supplies i will need. Could you guys link me to the items on amazon that i will need to buy? (resin, glass mat, body filler, etc) Everything except the wood! I got that covered Thanks guys!
  20. Cant wait to get my sonotube in the mail, retune y box from 27hz to 35. Thx again Chewie
