.75" closer probably won't make an audible difference so i think you'll be ok, but i would still try to keep the distance at 5.25" as much as possible then.

Alternator
Torres replied to 209er's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
is it worth low balling on an alternator to have it fail on you and possibly get stranded somewhere and have to pay to get it towed, and then turn around and buy a reputable alternator in the end? just pointing out a perspective -

Torres replied to windowtinter's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
they don't operate the same as a ported box. look at 6th order boxes. they have two types of tuning frequencies -

Chickens 26" Lexani VP Wheels fixed!
Torres replied to meade916's topic in Wheels and Tires - The rubber hits the road here!
never been repainted but some of the items like the roll pan and deck lids were painted to match....i hope someday to jump back on this thing and bring it back up to par, including a new candy paintjob. Thats all up to him though. for some reason, it took a year to dawn on me that it was 3 piece wheel. I mean i knew it was but duhhhh, i forgot you can take the center out and replace the "hoops". So as long as the center isnt damaged, you will always have your wheels, regardless if the brand is still in business or it was discontinued. I will lose my $10,000 coffee table in my lobby, but i would rather him have his wheels back. This whole thing was all me, he didnt give a shit if they ever came back, but I DO. you are a loyal and faithful person. THAT is a person who i admire and respect the most. I actually never knew that a taco job that bad can be repairable(if the center wasnt touched). i thought if a rim is bent, its done for. another thing i learn on SMD. lol also keep in mind that those are pieced wheels, not solid wheels. still nice regardless. especially since these are discontinued -
oh my...ouch lol

while the US composites resin is nice, regular bondo resin works fine for me. however, the US composites matting is GREAT stuff to use. puts bondo matting to shame. and i hate the cloth stuff. the US composites matting pulls apart very easily so it thins it out so you can get the curves better.

Discharging Static from a CPU?
Torres replied to LZTYBRN's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
it shouldn't cause static when you're unboxing them. they should be packaged in anti-static material. just make sure you're not assembling it on carpet and ground yourself out. you can shock the electrical components and damage them and never even notice the shock. if you get up to get something and come back, ground yourself again before you touch any components. -
port 45's are good to help air flow. other 45's are not necessary.

AMEN to that. the 'oh i'll do that tomorrow' can happen SO easily. then before you know it you've missed assignments and quizzes to hand in. happens to me all the time lol. no fault but my own, i just hate online classes. another AMEN to this. i have to take lots of online classes, or distance learning rather (the school just doesn't offer the in-class courses...fuckin bullshit), and i've taken 1, maybe 2 where i actually didn't mind it. the courses are set up poorly in my experiences. i asked for help on one thing, granted it wasn't class related, and the teacher replied with 'i'm busy grading programs...feel free to e-mail the class'. pretty sure my question wasn't even that hard, just above my level. trying to convey your confusion/their help through messages is a pain, and then you have the waiting game for when they'll reply. i HATE online classes, but i have no other choice but to take them basically just saying do what ya gotta do, just don't go in thinking online classes are all great and easy. because they're the opposite lol
