  1. People love to over compensate their electrical around here. Not saying that's a bad thing. But when people start hearing about all these alts and batteries, Noobs start telling other noobs that if you wanna run 4 18's you need 4 alts. Like you just saw in this thread. Love when I see noobs giving noobs horrible advice.
  2. In all honesty, your best bet is going to be sticking around the forum and just doing a little research before buying anything. I do suggest selling all of your equipment tho and starting with a clean slate. Then once you have a little more knowledge, you can purchase better equipment at a cheaper price than those retarded Orion's lol. Just tryin to help out man.
  3. Dude - subs have to have alts bro. I had 16 10's in my suburban one time with only 1 alt. Still not sure how I did it. You must've had hella capasatorz Brian.
  4. Ya that's what I meant to say. Just felt like being sarcastic. Lol
  5. Cut the same heights like ray said, Then to place them in the same spot on each side, find a place that you can measure from. Measure and place in equal positions on each panel. Make sense? Lol
  6. Hey Scott, that better not have been the only thing of yours that hit her in the face that day. HEEYYYYYOOOOOOOO.
  7. If he set everything with a 0 db track. And he plays decaf, he will be clipping seeing as how decaf boosts at -5 to -10 db.
  8. Op take a dmm and check your final impedance load. I think you may be at 2 ohms instead of .5 like you think.
  9. how would i check if it was out of phase i guess lol dont wanna do it wrong and do something i kno the phase setting on the amp is at 0. Sub level is 15/15 and i only drop .4 from 13.6 full tilt i got 5 xs d3100 lol You said you used the DD1 on your amp, but when you checked you Headunit, was the sub level at 15/15? I always leave my sub level at 0 and then set my gain accordingly. This would be my first recommendation for adjustment. And what head unit do you use? Because I use the same head unit as the op and I leave my sub level at 15/15. Never burnt up a sub.
  10. Was the sub level on the deck at 15/15 when you dd-1'd it? What's your voltage at full tilt?
  11. Just because you set your HU with a dd-1 doesn't mean your speakers aren't shit lol
  12. Don't run different subs. Different subs have different specs. Even in separate boxes they will cancel each other out and sound like complete ass. Sell all the subs, and buy 2 matching, good quality 12's. Guarantee it will sound 10x better than 5 mismatched subs. Don't run different amps to the subs. Different amps have different power outputs and will end up powering each sub differently which will cause more cancelation. Sell the 4 amps and get 1 good sub amp. Question for you now, the 5.25's are speakers correct? Not subwoofers? If they ARE speakers, I would suggest eventually trying your hand at fiberglassing your door panels to fit 2 5.25's per door. Any other questions, feel free to ask.
  13. You can borrow my electrical one day if you wanna test lol
  14. Looks like someone might get loud
  15. Damn ken I thought you were done trying to be loud? LOL
  16. I didn't know that the more subs you have, the more alternators you need. Lol
  17. Holy hell the misinformation in this thread is making me dizzy
  18. So you're going to throw a huge system in a chevelle? Ehhh Please don't ruin a beautiful car like that.
  19. Most likely just the ca glue burning off. Then again.. Lol
  20. I laughed more at the price. Did JL replace the w7 with the solo x?
  21. My audioque 3500.1 that I have for sale
  22. Rustoleum is good. I say use that for everything else because nightshades is specifically for red lights (aka taillights). It has red tint in it so it shines through better. Spray that on your headlights and it looks pinkish lol
