Good to hear you're back home. I've had blood clot problems since all my surgeries from war injuries. 5 DVT's and the last one became a pulmonary embolism. I'll have to get a stint in each of the major leg arteries if I ever develop another one. Do they have you on coumadin? I have to take that shit for the rest of my life.

Thats why I pack shit good enough that they can kick it and throw it and drop it all they want, and my contents won't be hurt.

Running off the deck, I would get a 4ohm tweeter with a high sensitivity, and rms ~50.

What head unit do you have?

The wire is the VL CCA series. Pretty cheap shit.

Goes to show that even the best shops/installers cut corners sometimes. I won't put them on blast, you all already know who did my doors.

Don't know, but after checking a bunch of random speaker wire in the car, it seems to only be the SoundQuest, and only the SoundQuest in the doors.

Quick rundown; One of the mids in my doors stops working. First, checked the driver, its fine. Figure its the crossover, swap it out, still no output. So I start working down the speaker wire looking for shorts and checking the few connections there are. Get inside the door, and the final piece between the door jamb and the driver is corroded to hell. SoundQuest speaker wire, for those wanting to know. And it wasn't just corroded near the ends, it was all the way through a 12" piece. No wonder it could carry no current. How it should look, golden. This is cut and stripped about 6" from any open end (male/female spades BTW). Its almost black and crumbles between my fingers. Moral of the story, choose quality speaker wire, and check it regularly just like the rest of your systems wiring and connections.

If I add a 1 5/8th piece after the turn, it only adds an inch to the overall length. Guess i'll try that.

Doesn't work, because a center port should be cut in half after the bend.

See Nate, thats the dilemma. If I bend it at 5.5", it goes against that theory. Technically, it does bend, but for only 3/4". The width of the port wood.

I thought on a center port, the port width is cut in half at the turn?
