If you are trying to save money, you could get the same power for cheaper from Hifonics. I'm not sure on the reliability of the Hifonics, but I know people who have used them for a long time and never had any problems. Sundown underrates their amps, their build quality is very great (that is what I've heard).
If buying Hifonics, I would buy the next step up from what you need. If you want a true 1000 rms, I would buy the 1500 rms rated amp. Yes you will get more than 1000 rms, with the 1500, but you can always keep the gain down a little. These guidelines are for the HIfi line, which is their lowest line. The other lines are CEA-2006 compliant, so they will do rated.
