You're not totally correct. The OtherOS feature (Linux) has been removed from the Ps3 by Sony. Hackers were trying to use it as an exploit and Sony pulled the plug. If you want to keep it, you can't upgrade your firmware which means no PSN and most newer games (that require to have a firmware 3.30 or later) won't work. Also, every single Ps3 except the original 20 gig has wifi AFAIK. My new slim has it, and my 8O gig had it. The only thing my 8O gig didn't have that the original 60 gig had was hardware based BC. It used software emulation, IIRC. I never used it, though. Too bad my 8O gig kept getting the YLOD and so I had to replace it. I fixed it twice myself but the third time didn't work.

Jacob is currently testing the new Sundown e8 subwoofer, which will be cheaper than the sa8. No time frame on when it will come out, but a pre-sale probably wouldn't be TOO far off if you're not in a hurry to get them (assuming he will do a pre-sale like he normally does). SA-8s seems to be popping up here and there in for sale ads. You can get them for like...what, 110-120 shipped? Something like that. Anyway...good luck searching.

Here's how I've come to understand it by reading forums: fuse based on the wire. If your wire can handle about 300 amps of current, then pop up to a 250 or 300 amp fuse on it. The fuse is there to prevent the wire from melting/burning if it shorts. Is this info correct? If so, does this change for an amp that isn't internally fused? In that case, wouldn't you fuse based on the amp's specs?

Here's an easy way to spot a *possible* illegal. Do they speak English? Of course there are illegals who speak english, and legals who don't, but it's a decent way to help identify them without relying on just skin color. If I was a police officer and encountered someone who didn't speak english, they would immediately be questioned about their legal status. And I'm all for the law. I couldn't give two shits for all these illegals milking our system and not doing shit to help the country. My mother in law, when she lived in Mesa, was hit by a drunk illegal at like 3 in the afternoon walking to her chiropractor. She dislocated both of her knees. Of course he had no insurance, didn't own the car, and was already wanted. They also put serious strain on hospitals because 1) they go to the emergency room for bullshit reasons because they don't have a normal doctor and 2) they don't pay their bills and the hospital ends up eating the cost. My wife sees it all the time. They also get all pissed off at her when there is no one at the hospital who speaks spanish. Like it's the hospital workers' job to learn your language and not your job to learn the language that we speak in this damn country.

I'll just add that my ps3 got the YLOD again last night. Tried to fix it myself for the third time and it just won't work. Went out a bought a 120 gig slim. Gonna rock some CoD tonight. What pissed me off the most is that me and my buddies were playing some HCTDM and this guy on the other team was talking shit, then in the next game we slaughtered him and his team. He then went on about "wait for the next game" and whatever. As soon as the next game started, he killed me pretty quick...then my ps3 died. I was pissed. So today and hook up my new slim and I sign on the PSN and there was a message saying "why'd you run?" or something.

When I worked at a dealer a while back, we had an 05 or 06 (it was a 6.0) with like 7k on it that I personally sold. It wasn't there long and some kid came in with his grandma to co-sign for him. Bought it for like 21k. The people that traded it in wanted an XLR instead. The GTO was nice, other than being an automatic. And the GTO was based on the Holden Monaro. It was only called a Vauxhall in the UK.

Exclusives are really the only way to judge a system's graphical capability. When devs make a game for both systems, they make sacrifices. A lot of multiplat games (most actually) look/run better on the xbox because it was the lead platform. I've never really seen any Xbox games that impressed me the way that Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, God of War 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5, etc. have .I'm not saying Xbox games don't look good, because they have some great looking games. I just think the ps3 is pulling ahead graphically. Seriously, Kz2 is over a year old and it still is pretty hard to beat. The animations, particle effects, physics, lighting are all top notch and quite impressive.

Well, first of all you can upgrade the HD in the slim. Also, I have never heard of a red screen of death. I've gotten the YLOD twice on my original 80 gig, but I fixed it myself both times and it's working fine for now. I don't know what you mean by saying you can't message people in your game. I send people messages all the time. You can also have a text chat open while you're playing. My ps3 has backwards compatibility, but I have never used it. I'm fine with the PSN, although I've never really used XBL so I guess I don't know what I'm missing. But, it's free, and that's great. Also, I prefer the games on Ps3. PS3 has the better exclusives without a doubt. Graphics are better as well. I give your review a 1/5

Plus, with any imp. rise and voltage drop, you'd be closer to 1500 watts or below. I'm sure most people would recommend the XL, unless you were going to upgrade your amp in the near future. Is that amp being run on stock electrical?

I don't think your "1900 watt" amp will be enough for a level 5.

I would say 1 15" in a properly sized ported box > 4 15s crammed in a tiny sealed box. But I'm no expert.

AQ specifically advises people to break in their woofers. I've seen people recommend just playing it, but then I've seen people mention that it really does help to break in AQ subs. Just do what you want, though. Maybe just keep the gain down a tad for a few weeks, then let er wang. Edit: that's assuming you're talking about the HDC3 in your sig.

Since there's already a thread open...I have a question about the sa12. My buddy is looking for a new sub and I was going to recommend the sa12 but wanted to make sure he'd have the power for it. His amp (Profile ap1000m) is rated for 500w at 2 ohms. It's a cheap amp but I've always heard decent things about them (I have the same amp). Anyways, Have you ran one under RMS (like 450-500 watts), and did it perform up to it's potential being a bit underpowered? Also, do you have D4 12s in stock (I think you mentioned that they sold more than expected and were low)?

There are people on the site that do designs for money. Not sure how much, but it shouldn't be much for a design. Or you can contact MTX and ask them for box specs.

Yes. Don't buy a prefab off ebay or something. It won't have the correct volume, port area and will be tuned way too high most likely. Let someone who knows what they're doing build you a box, or buy a design and build it yourself if you have the tools.

You could probably buy an old style motor (or blown woofer) and send it to Fi to have it reconed to a 15". Then it'd be basically new.

Wow. So I guess every subwoofer in the world that uses ferrite magnets is exactly the same.... Nothing about those subs look identical. Hell, the neo magnets don't even look the same.
