  1. Im going to run 5 12's in my 2001 Impala. I'm sticking with alpines design due to the fact that I will be slightly over powering them and im out of room I would proablly be better using 4 but I have already done (4) 12's in 2 differnet Impalas this year. How do you think it will sound? the (4) in my buddy's impala get it pretty good and he is only giving them ~440 RMS each. I have ~660 to give them each
  2. a lot of subs can handle more than RMS for advanced users, If you plan on over powering a driver you have to be careful. Generally if you have to ask than you should stay closer to RMS...
  3. Voltage limit is 125 VACrms, 176VACpeak. This equates to a 15,000 watt RMS amplifier at 1 ohm, or 7,500 watts at 2 ohm ect. This, I believe will cover everything on the mobile and home audio market. I recommend setting the gains without the speakers being connected, just to save your speakers from having to deal with a continuous sine wave at full power. My testing has shown that with the speakers disconnected you end up with about 1 - 3 more dB of overlap. The exception to this would be if the amplifier has a regulated power supply, then it wouldn't matter either way. I just did two cars with it last night. Set the fronts at 10dB overlap and rears at 5dB overlap without the speakers connected. They both came out perfect. Neither car has subs yet, but when they do I'd set the sub with 15dB overlap. Tony D'Amore D'Amore Engineering When you say overlap what do you mean exactly? like you used -10DB tones for the fronts and -15 tones for the rear?
  4. I built the "high output slot ported" box and this thing is LOUD. It obviously has nothing on my BTL 18 but for 1 12" on a "500" watt amp (RF T-500-1bdCP) it gets it pretty good. The box is tuned @ 40Hz. Pics All my scores were sealed on the dash "legal"
  5. I'll never tell... I bought a RF P1000-1bd, Alpine MRP-M500 and a BLOWN T0 for 400.00 He bought the sub from my shop so I had it warrantied I sold both amps the same night I bought them for 300.00 because the P1000 was BEAT up, scratched really bad . I Just built the EXACT "High output" box from the .PDF That way I can sell it if I dont like it.
  6. I just picked up one of these and was wondering what you guys thought of them. Its still new in the box and I might just sell it as I got it STUPID cheap. I have a T500-1bdCP to run it on as I know my T2500-1bdCP will kill the little guy. I'm just looking at other subs be for I re-cone my BTL 18. I cant find many reviews or youtube videos about them so I figured I'd ask.
  7. Your box is dope but He said he was a noob.
  8. Sub up, Port back. Look at my build, If you need any help PM me. Keep in mind that unless your building the box in the trunk it has to fit in the OPENING... Oh and you will NEED a metric shit ton of deadener if you plan on feeding it any kind of real power....
  9. LilTeddyP just bought a SPL-LAB meter and I was wondering how it compared to the Term-Lab. I have used a TL adn know that it is the ONLY meter used for legit events. I found some stuff online saying it was great and some also saying it was worthless. What do you think?
  10. I just subscribed. I will buy ATLEAST one of these. I have my paypal ready, Shit Ill even pre-order
  11. So I ordered two of these at cost yesterday, When they came today I installed them and They don't really do anything. I wish it was like my old shark fin amp and the knob actually did something. Im using them on a T2500 and a T1000-4. On the 1000-4 its nice to be able to get a little extra treble but its nothing my built in EQ cant do....
  12. Im sure it could be fixed but if you plan on keeping the box I would start over, If this is a lower power handling box than you might be able to deal it with caulk. Id mix wood glue and saw dust and cake it in their from the outside too...
  13. If you would like I can desighn your box for you. Just give me the availbe dimensions. You also have to make sure the box will fit in the opening of the trunk (IF its a trunk). Im at work so if I dont respond PM me. I think you should learn for your self but if I give you the design maybe when you plug in the numbers in to the calc. it will be more clear...
  14. Im from the Lansing area. Welcome to the forum. So when are we going to have a MI meet?
