  1. I had 2 go out on me last year, they don't seem to like vibration all that much. I get the single digit that stays illuminated even when powered off...
  2. Yeah a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile and you find Kyle's nuts quite often
  3. pretty much entry level stuff with a budget that small, especially if you'll be paying to have a custom box built. And you don't want to buy used. AQ SDC's, Sundown SA's, OA's, FI SSD's are subs I've built for and they all can sound good and get respectably loud in the right enclosure.
  4. I wouldn't worry about forward/rear firing right now as your box is just too far off to get much out of those subs...
  5. the opening of the port is 4.25". And hits pretty good on some songs and sounds bad on most. i had a buddy design it and i juta put it together Sorry to say but that box design is junk for those subs. 8cubes NET is the smallest I'd do, 8.5-9 is better with 16^2 port per cube. You're around 10^2 per cube if you're lucky and it's tuned way too low. If you give me your max dimensions I'll see if I can come up with a better design that will fit. How much power do you have?
  6. angry DTF guys are what piss me off.......JK Robie I can just read his stuff and laugh, but I can see where you youngers guys could get angry over the OP and some of the responses. Hell I've built 2 160+ vehicles....and I still know nothing and will admit it, yet that thread is full of "experts"
  7. I get 9^3 gross, so you're probably way on the small side with port/subs subtracted. What are specs for the port opening? I see 15.5 high, but how wide is it? How does it sound so far as this box "seems" to be way out of whack for those subs...
  8. middle port also adds "free" bracing. Driver's side port lets you sit back a little farther since you can rest the seat against the enclosure. I've always done common chamber, port in the middle, and a port reducer for daily.
  9. Really curious on box specs as I don't see 2 of those fitting in a trunk in the proper size enclosure. Especially tuned to 27Hz as that's a long ass port if you did 16^2 port area per cube. As for trunk set ups my experience has been rear facing hits lower, forward firing peaks a little higher and is louder. Also sounds a little better on real music. Of course every car is different...
  10. The selenium 8's are a PA midrange and will provide no midbass with the proper HPF on them. I have several in my set up... If you want midbass then don't look at PA stuff. If you want to get very loud then PA is your answer and yes you'll need to set up a bandpass xover for the mids...
  11. Because I want a 8'' with full range capabilities. Ok, What do you mean by cross over properly? Do some researching otherwise you will be less then happy with the results. If set up properly and given decent power the Seleniums can be very loud and clean sounding...
  12. if you have the room recone the 12 to an 18. I'm running a single HDC 18 for daily off 2 3500's and it's pretty impressive for a trunk set up. Otherwise get another 12" HDC and another 22200...
  13. I use SS or zinc nuts/bolts on all the walls I've built. As mentioned wire each VC separately so you can change imp externally if you want to.
  14. AQ1200 for sale on csco, guy is out of chicago. Amp looks mint...
  15. try avsforum, that's where I got the codes for my Panny plasma that went out a few months back...
  16. Run a master/slave for each sub, just split the input signal to the master amps. I run 6 3500's that way...
  17. People who really break windshields don't brag about it as it gets expensive and old in a hurry. I took out 3 last year and got sick of driving home in the dark with a windshield covered in duct tape...
  18. If you have the room I'd do a flat wall for sure, more efficient and should be louder. I ran a flat wall for a few years and now a vertical clam....er sideways Pacman
  19. Isn't Sundown sold at B&M stores/shops? Not underground anymore IMO, just not quite mainstream yet, but I'm sure Jacob is working on that...
  20. Ideally the subs should be co-located as the chances for cancellation are much higher with them in the towers and placed apart in the room. Looks impressive as hell though, but isn't ideal for max output... XT25's are nice little tweeters, you looking into the full format ring radiators?
  21. paint them or tape black fleece on the inside. I've done both and honestly if you get pulled over and weren't blasting your music and explain/show the cop why you want it hidden he should be understanding.
  22. I have 2 blue and 2 white, but they're like 41-42" long. Also one piece of blue that's about 90" long. Let me know if that will work...
  23. Don't think so. I had 50' of blue and sold it in 2 pieces, but I know I have some leftover pieces of both colors, just not sure how long. Will be home from work in a few hours and let you know
  24. I'll see what I have in the garage when I get home from work. Might be a few smaller pieces, not sure I have 8' in a single piece.
