New DC Update Thread UPDATED 7/11
ChevyBoy95 replied to Chode69's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
me. shows up the 22nd -
after what happened to me at DC, i dont know if i will ever choose a different company. best customer service on the face of the earth. but i also have zero experience with RE.
-
yea, thats why i said roughly, because a 12 usually measures 11 from edge of surround to the other edge of the surround, and then there are other things like 1/3 of the surround count as cone area and the other doesnt, but in generalities the pi*r*r works.
-
sorry but that was humorous. all you calculated would be the height if you stacked them (3 12in next to each other is 36in, same with the 18s). TO get cone area is it r*r*3.14 (r being radius or half the diameter). so... 3 12s ---> 6*6*3.14 = 113.1 then x3 for the 3 woofers = 339.3 square inches roughly of cone area 2 18s ---> 9*9*3.14 = 254.47 then x2 for the 2 woofers = 508.94 square inches roughly of cone area
-
size doesn't really dictate SQ, a lot of people have proved that 18s can be quite musical. As far as more bass, 2 18s swamp the size of the 3 12s (4 12s wouldnt even equal 2 18s in cone area). the 18s would need more port area and more cubic feet that 3 12s.

ALTERNATORS WHINING PROBLEM!
ChevyBoy95 replied to LINCOLN88's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
i looked at his post and saw all caps, then skipped it and posted this. -
i think he means because of the 2 ohms power ratings. the cPs are birthsheeted around 3100-3300 rms at 1 and 2 ohms. The regular 2500bd is 1800rms at 2 ohms (rated, probably does like 2000 on birthsheet) and 2500 (~3100) at 1 ohm. So a cP being double, no, but much better, yes.

DC 2K and Level 4's
ChevyBoy95 replied to GiAnT4LYFE's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
x2, its so you dont have to jam 2 8ga into 1 8ga hole depending on how you wire the subs. -
wiz khalifa - gang bang the only reason i said is because in between the bass at the beginning you can hear "money... money... money" and thats the first line to the song and it has the same bass line. i think i win.
