    Welcome to SMD! For starters, you don't need a $5000 set from Focal to get SQ. No. I would save some more if you are serious about quality though. Start with sets of components- check out the Crescendo ones. Look at MB Quart 4 channel and mono amps. As for subs, that's pretty damn open-ended. Just so many options...but check out what I suggested and see how you feel about it as a starting point!

    Why would you put a 4.3 Vortec in that? A truck motor in a performance-oriented car doesn't make sense. Would be 500% cooler to restore/build the stock motor

    A bolt is a thick piece of solid metal- it may be an alloy, but if that bugs you a lot, hit up eBay for some copper bolts

    This is true...and they have been used in houses for ages without much issue. I just like knowing that fuses are restored to 100% effectiveness after replacement, whereas a circuit breaker may only be high 90s, but I am a stickler for details. And magic smoke =

    Eh, from what I know, circuit breakers tend to become less effective over time, as they sort of 'wear out' each time they trip. Because they're based on a piece of metal heating up to a certain point, that metal undergoes stress from repeated heating/cooling processes.

    It was actually, though why she did it is still unclear. We did hear a little boom when we were in the pizzeria, like something falling off a truck. Didn't think much of it though...

    My friend Scott and I were walking back to our dorms with a $5 pizza...typical college kid stuff, and we come across this. According to a girl nearby, the Expedition started accelerating out of a garage underneath our dorm building, crossed the street, and went down two sets of 5-6 stairs into the Law building.     Looks kind of like the cone/surround off an AQ HDC sub, basket from a DD product (or AQ for that matter), and of course that JL W7 motor.

    If all goes well, I should be running a 12" Q with the cooling option in a sealed enclosure off about 900W. I know that the high Qts option is there for people running the subs sealed, but what would that do if I were to someday move to a ported enclosure? Does that option limit the sub to sealed enclosures only? Thanks.

    I...think that would work, and yeah it makes sense that the final load would be 2.4 in parallel. My only question is since each sub has different resistance, would each get different wattage?
