it is a prefab. not by choice. it was given to me with the sub. i already have my design and will be building asap. but i dont think its a level 5 coil. im reconing it with one though. and im not gonna really judge the sub til i get a proper box. the prefab works out to 2.14 cu ft after displacement @ 35 hz tuning. the port is good size for the volume however -

finally got my hands on a dc sub. found a guy selling locally on craigslist and managed to pick it up. however its far from perfect. cosmetically its 10/10 but it came with a limited edition black voicecoil haha. the guy says hes only had it a couple weeks too. but im gonna be reconing it anyways since it is a dual 2 and i need dual 1. anyways on to pics. the box is a prefab he sold me with the sub. ill be building a new one very soon. 8 10s will be back in once i get the box finished. so this will hold me over til then. anyways on to pics

my plan is to fill all the screw holes with wood filler then a couple layers of kilz primer and paint. but between all those steps ill be sanding and what not but i need some help from you guys on what grit of sandpaper and what wood filler works well. i want the box to be white as well, so can i just leave the primer or should i paint it too? im not looking for a mirror finish but id like a smooth glossy look. what do you guys recommend?

ddmtuning hid kits
baaudio replied to mason313's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
i would get the mounting brackets. its a new option theyve added finally. i expected to get them the first time i ordered but just bent up from backstrap and it works too. brackets are like $4 per pair iirc. they have lots on backorder right now though. im still waiting on one of my kits but the email they sent me of backordered kits was mostly 35w, so you may be fine. -

i just ordered a kit from them a couple weeks ago. but if your doing 55 watt ballasts i would get one color higher then you want because its gonna wash it out some. i have 8000k 55w in my headlights and 6000k 35w in my fogs and they match perfect. -

How big is the box? -
Hey do you wax your circle jig before using it? I have always done this with home made jigs but wanted others opinions on this. And to the op, it's easy to make your own just make sure your measurements are accurate. ive never heard of waxing the jig. it goes pretty smooth already being mdf
-
i made my own circle jig out of 1/4" mdf i had laying around. cheap and easy. just make sure you have some scrap mdf to test your holes with. id recommend a 1/2" upspiral cut bit, 1/4" will work too but is more likely to flex under load.

Getting into college
baaudio replied to bumpinTL364's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
honestly i dont think thats a proper judgement for the possibility of getting into a college. yes extra curriculars are good. but they focus mostly on your gpa and sat/act scores. i had good sat/act scores, but my gpa wasnt so good. i got like a 1200 on sats and had a 2.6 gpa. my sat scores had me eligible to many schools but the gpa hurt me. id say focus on those things more then worrying about top in class. especially a class of only 100 or 350 people. those are pretty small numbers. -
Sub to Amp wiring question
baaudio replied to manofthehour's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
typically amps like this are internally paralleled. so it would be the same as if you wired the sub in parallel and only used one + n -. thats how my s2000.1 is so i just paralleled and ran one set of pos n neg -
that must have some good shocks on it. i wonder how much he had to practice that too. cuz if you listen he deflates the bags while its in the air then hits them right when it hits the ground. pretty cool though
