  1. Steve's honda is being built as an SPL monster not a DD. SO it'll only get those power levels for like 5 seconds and knowing how Steve does, he could prolly wire them to wall sockets without blowing em. I can't say ALWAYS, but every ported box I've heard sounded better to ear than a comparable sealed box. It's all about efficiency. Then again, not every sub works well in ported boxes so I can't say "ZOMG YAEH PORTD IS AllwAZE BETTAR LOLz." Also space is an issue, ported boxes take more space than sealed so that's an issue. At any rate you could sawzall the rear deck if you really wanted to and It'd be a non issue.
  2. While you are correct, if your doing a big 3 anyway, I'd swap out for some larger cable anyway. Just in case you want to go bigger later. Personally, I'd feel a lot better running 1500w rms through a 1/0, but I like to overbuild things rather than underbuild for obvious reasons. Then again, I have my 500w rms amp putting out 3x what it's supposed to on 4ga and a stock charging system sooooooo........
  3. Hell, I'd rock it out if it was slammed on 30s. I figure you could buy a new airbag cover for when you need to inspect it, prolly. Since the Mark LT is basicly a rebadged 150, it makes sense, but you can't sell it as a Lincoln. The VIN will always read ford.
  4. Incorrect. Only the 60GB had full hardware backwards compatibility. This was because they actually had the processor from the PStwos in them. They are also the only US models to feature 4 USB 2.0 ports, WiFi, and chrome trim. Due to lack of interest and as a cost cutting measure they removed the PStwo chip from the mobos and offered some backwards compatibility on the 80s and early 120s, however this was purely software accelerated and buggy with some(read: most) games. The newer ones do not offer ANY backwards compatibility as those of us that like to USE our systems that we payed OUR HARD EARNED MONEY for found ways to use the older games to do things Sony says is a big no-no. Sony is filled with doodoohead execs that like to tell consumers what they are and aren't allowed to do with the products they still expect them to buy, kinda like a rather large American company we all love to hate for the same reason. Btw, I have a hard/soft modded 60G that still runs 1.0FW. Take THAT Sony!
  5. I agree, it looks really good. esp. for your first box. My first box looked like ass.
  6. I think he just went there. I totally didn't think about a factory amp. Yes, you will have to use an LOC then.
  7. Use a high quality LOC at that, crappy quality LOCs will fuck up your signal hardcore. The one I have laying in the floor of my garage clipped the hell out of my signal to the point you couldn't use the gain or boost controls or it'd shut off. I used a set of MTX High-level-to-RCA converter that came with my amp to connect it and it works like a charm. I have an extra set of those BTW.
  8. THIS. Double check the ground at the amp, make sure it's of decent size. I've seen tards wire grounds on 500w amps with speaker wire. Also. dunno if it was mentioned, check the LENGTH of the amp ground too why your at it. It should be as short as possible.
  9. Man, I would love to have those books. I love books.
  10. You wanna run the football up the middle DAMN NEAR EVERY PLAY? Fuck that You wanna fucking quit playing the second half? El fucko thato Hey, hey, hey, Payton Manning, yes, you.... FUCK YOU! Hey, Mr. Colts offensive coordinator... FUCK YOU!
  11. What the hell do you drive that two years old and DOESN'T have keyless entry? O.o I thought that was one of those thing you needed to have to make the car go like leather seats and a gas pedal...

    SQ Amps?

That explains a lot. Thank you for that. I'm going to scoop up a 1000w amp to play with my MTX's until I get ready for this new build. I'm already planning it about $4000 deep. Anyone else vouch for Sundown amps? I've been reading the spec sheets since that last post...

    SQ Amps?

So regardless, the 2 subs on one amp only get half the power of the output each? Even with them paralelled? That explains why my MTXs barely move at all. I'm planning on running a 220A alt with a Kinetik 1400 up front and a Kenetik 600 or two in the rear Wired with 1/0.

    SQ Amps?

I'd like to keep it less than $500 for eash, but I'm flexible up to say $750-800 ish for one or the other. Yeah, 2 dual2Ω drivers wired parallel each speaker should see 1000w. Please correct me if I'm wrong, that's always bothered me anyway. If I have to do 2 1kw amps I'll have to shoot Dom another PM about the alt. I dunno If I can dual alts on this car.

    SQ Amps?

Yet another suggestion thread... Imma need two amps, one for subs and one for highs. Sub amp needs to put out 1kw rms @ 2Ω. Will be attached to 2 Fi.Qs. Highs amp needs to put out 100w rms x4 @ 4 Ω. Will be attached to 4 corners of Focal 3-way components. And sound BADASS doing it. I would really, really, really prefer that they come from the same company... Thanks again.
  16. Quite well, 65k miles and no problems. It'll be even more beautiful once I do the full Super body kit and get it repainted.
  17. Finished up the Big 3 with my extra 4ga I had. Not pretty but very effective. All lugs are soldered and taped. Alternator Routing New neg terminal Connected at stock location
  18. It looks like a custom Remington 700. I can tell by the fluted barrel and seeing a number of barrels in my day. God only knows about the scope. Is it a 700? I have a Model 7600 myself.
