Exactly that, i did that test in my SPL gains topic, changed from a 12gauge to a 8gauge and won a couple of tenths on the meter, but to the ears it´s just the same, i mean, if you can´t hear a 1 db difference you can imagine a 0.2 dbs lol, but anyways, if you care about the score on the meter then use a good old 8 gauge wire, if not, use something smaller wich is gonna work the same for you!

Maybe this would help you, i had a big ass box for 2 DD´s 1510 at one time, it had a 37 hz tuning , i took the subs out because i wanted to confirm this "myth" , so i installed a pair of MTX 7500´s wich had a FS around 44 hz iirc , they weren´t as loud as the DD´s on the lows but of course totally different subs, they might needed a different box, but anyways, they sounded awesome for a couple of months, didn´t have any problems with them about unloading,bottoming out,getting hot or anything like that, so in my opinion, no problems tuning a box around the FS of the sub...

I´ve used 3 10´s 4 ohms SVC before on a single amp wired @ 1.33 ohms, they work great if you know how to keep the rise low, that model of MTX subs are you using? i know some things about 10" mtx subs , i might help you out

Hey hommie, the zrs series its rated at 18v, i had a zrs-c6 , it was a pretty impressive amplifier, it sounded very clean and loud, i clamped 2800 watts @ 3.7 ohms with a voltage drop around 13.8 volts, not the loudest amplifiers ever but i honestly think they are very nice, if you can find a Cadence for a small amount of money i think it worth it, but i honestly think there are better options out there, try getting American Bass , AQ or Crescendo, you can find very nice prices and i can asure you they are louder than the Cadence amps!!

I loved my 1510´s , they are stupid loud if you ask me, i´ve played only a couple of times with 1512´s and they are VERY nice, i haven´t got any luck with 1508´s , built a couple of boxes for them and i wasn´t surprised at all, i guess i did something VERY wrong since everybody it´s stupid loud with them lol Here you have my 1510´s playing some music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2X1JGFQLNS4

C series it´s at 16v , at least the biggest amps such as the C5, C6 and C7 , personally i´ve used A LOT this brand and i like it very much, but there are cheaper options that can give you more power, but yes, Cadence it´s very nice!!

You can always build the box and change ports for comps and daily, i would do something like 1.2 cubic feet and single 4" aeroport with a low tuning for daily and higher tuning for comps

You can test port side by just turning the box around, of course, seat won´t close but you will know if you get louder or not X2 on James comment, as much as i love the m2, that´s small power for that sub, we built a nissan almera with 2 9515´s and a DD m4 and that shit was so nasty, now he has only 2 m2´s , still loud but no way near as it use to, you should feed that monster with at least a 3K and it will come to life (wich i know it already is) hehe

For me, an aeroport it´s louder than a slot port on the right application, BUT, kerf port is as loud as an aeroport, 2 different things, once again, depends on the application, sometimes a kerf works better than an aero and viceversa, my explorer it´s using slot while my swift is using "aeros"
