Dual alt install and now belt squeal
onebadmonte replied to n8ball2013's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Also the Dayco website is very good for searching by dimensional size ie. pulley diameter or belt length. It will give you part numbers and you can search for them at the summit racing site. Dayco Dimensional Lookup -
Dual alt install and now belt squeal
onebadmonte replied to n8ball2013's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
You got a pic of that dual alt setup. A slipping serpentine belt means you don't have enough pulley wrap around the accessory you are trying to drive. You might have to step up to larger idlers to fix the problem. Good luck. -

If you let the car sit for an extended period of time the batteries would end up draining each other. It fight this it is recommended to use an industrial relay (200+ amps) or a battery isolator. This is only if the vehicle will sit for an extended period (a month or more). If you are using this vehicle on a daily basis everything should be fine.

Power help please
onebadmonte replied to graham0599's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Try the local auto parts like Napa. Trucks usually came with a HO alt option from the factory. Usually 145-200 amps. See if one is available for your truck. -

Okay the craiglist ad was a little silly. Capitalize from your situation and make an adventure out of it man. Post an ad on a dating service site. List your attributes and in bold put "Seeks to learn how to drive stick shift." You might not get the prettiest one, but it'll be fun as hell. To break the ice have her tell you about the longest distance call she's ever made. BAM! You learned how to drive stick, made a new friend, and maybe got a little action.

Direct Wire Welding cable
onebadmonte replied to RickyFriery97's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
That stuff looks good. I went with Radaflex welding cable from Cableyard.com. It has a teflon layer between the wire and the outside insulation for better flexibility. The price is very competitive they offered free shipping. Check it out, the stuff ships from Houston. -
SMD Youtube Channel takes the #2 spot back!

I think to pay homage to Top Gear Mr Meade should pose for a pic in a similar pose as the Stig is in the Top Gear avatar and have it photo-shopped in the same colors. As to pay homage to Mr Meade, Top Gear should let the Stig drive the Hoe around their test track and see how the Hoe fairs against other super cars. -

Congrats on the new amp. -
Lol! I think it'd be cool if it was 4WD with a solid axle up front. I guess that would be taking the redonkulousness to a new level.
