For stuff like wire they are as close to the basement as you want to get (unless you just go with welding wire). Remember that you are dealing with metals which have a fixed cost. If you find cheaper wire it will more than likely be sub-standard at best.

For my truck I would say the top of my list is an AGM G34 around $200-$240. If you sell the best battery in the world and want $275-$325+ for a G34 I'm not interested. I would rather have a battery that can't put out as many amps over a given second that is overall similar in performance for a reasonable price as I don't have a fart box. If we were talking about my boat that's another matter all together. For that I don't buy new products, only batteries with high AH that have proven to be able to take regular abuse (I'm talking near full discharge). As I said in another thread my current batts are around 5 years old and have had no problem being drained down next to nothing and brought back to life on a regular basis. This is one arena where a company needs to design the product for the market and not try and tell me how to use my battery.

I assumed when you were talking about boosted you meant like Phil Collins and shit not the normal stuff. If your subs are drowning out the mid/high I guess you need more power to them. In most cases 2kw to a couple subs will always drown out 200w to some components, it's common sense. Sounds like you don't have an inline level control.

Most of these songs are made for a laugh not for SQ. The point is to maximize the lower levels so you can scare the crap out of people.

You test your HU max volume at your amps which means AFTER your eq and any other crap you have in there. You test 40hz at your sub amps RCA's and then 1k at your 4 channel RCAs. The lower of the two is your HU max and then you do your amps. If you don't see a clip light on your amps maxed out you're doing something wrong. What exactly does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

This is how I understand it... If I'm wrong please sort me out Find out how many cells what you are comparing has. So for example an XS 12v has 6 cells at 2-2.24v each. To get up to 16v (4v difference) that's 2 more cells in the same amount of space or 1/3 less storage. So for every 3 batteries at 12 you need another at 16. That's in a perfect world so really you should be thinking in terms of 40%-50%.

I've been running an i7 920 [email protected] (stock voltage) since they came out, love it and this is definitely the first PC I've had in a long time that hasn't shown its age in the slightest (OC and 18gb of tri-channel helps). @Whoever it was that says they can't use their 8gb of ram... I use mine for work as well so I constantly run VM's each with around 4gb of ram so it gets used pretty quick. Set everything flat. Take the DD1 back to one of your amps and hook up to the RCA's coming from the front. Test it, then do the amp(s). You want to test through everything you will be using (HU, EQ, processors, etc). Also what I did was find my max then take it down a tick and raise my highs to where I like them and test there to make sure it wouldn't start to distort. EDIT: You want your bass knob all the way up when you test and it better be a line level knob and not a bass boost or gain knob. If it is the process is different. Not hard to figure out, turn the bass boost/gain knob up until it distorts. The guys "knob" is a BASS BOOST knob, it's different hence why Steve put a mark on it where it starts to distort. My amps have the same bs knob, I don't use it and instead use a PAC knob which is what he should be using.
