  1. Hey guys, I have done some searching on how to recone subs, but most recones I have seen are drop ins, I bought all the parts to do it, it seems to be pretty simple, lining it up and gluing the pieces together, but is there any guides on it that is more specific? thanks for the help Derek
  2. the question is what was the voltage at those amp outputs, they never post that
  3. my amp does 2845 rms at 2 ohms, had 2 sa-12's on it, beat the living shit out of them, the coils never even had issues, but I had some voltage drop and cause clipping so I eventually friend the tinsels on it, but I have my voltage taken care of now, and recones just need to be glued, they will take a lot of power 2 ohms will sound a lot better, but the sa could take your amp @ 1ohm no problem, with box rise you will be getting like 70%ish or less of that anyways
  4. What's the alt rated for and at what voltage did it test at that?
  5. the d3100 was replaced it was bad, which is im happy they honored the warrenty. The d3400 seems to be holding voltage pretty good, I may just keep it and use it, the leaking is very minimal if at all, and if it can hold under an amp draw I have no problem running it still. I dont wanna have to ship another battery really
  6. Well both subs had failures at the tinsel leads, time for recones, seems like sundown didn't desgin enough slack in the tinsel near where it goes into the spider, got strained and broke on both subs, a little disappointed with that
  7. you guys deleted my topic with my voltage spike issue, what the hell is that about?
  8. My mechman still doesn't do rated in my Mazda, about 70%, even with a new gates belt
  9. yea, seems to be the issue, I am shipping the d3100 to them tomorrow, have to wait to ship the d3400 cause I dont have a spare battery
  10. I read the charger to make sure it wasnt chargin high, cut off around 14.3-14.4 and floated them at 13.8, nothing out of the ordinary rear one was not exposed to any heat, the front battery is in the engine bay but it doesnt get hot, I have felt the battery after hours of play and the car on for hours and its cool, has plenty of air flow in there
  11. It has a vinegar/eggy smell to it yes, more vinegar like but defiantly can smell some eggyness to it I will try that and see what it does, I charge at 14.2 almost 100% of the time, its internally regulated, I have a volt meter always watching it, I took good care of these batteries. there is no battery bloating, I put them on the xs intellecharger every other night.
  12. im working with them, I have this up so xs can see it better cause describing it doesnt show them as good lol, I dont think there are any dealers around the minnesota area cause that would be 100% easier
  13. its getting worse, its starting to leak more and more, the engine bay is 100% dry, I have it setting on some cardboard in the battery tray to see if anything leaks down there and then I can see it better
  14. im uploading another video, it doesnt make sense that it is water, the engine bay is 100% dry, and its getting worse now, I think it is starting to stress the alternator :/ a sealed agm battery like this shouldnt have anything coming out of the cracks period! when I press on the top it ozzes out, I paid a lot of damn money for these batteries..
  15. Need more money for my car :/

  16. Hey guys, I have a few questions, geared towards Nathan. Well first my d3100 that I have in the rear of my car is dead, or at least 1 cell in it is, it drops down below 10.8 after a small load of around 15 amps for a couple minutes, I imagine a load of 100 amps and it would fall on its face, but I already have that taken care of, im sending that in for them to look at it. XS power has been really good so far with talking with them and getting me taken care of. D3100 after a 15 amp load for a few minutes D3100 Resting voltage 24 hours off the intellecharger Both batteries in this install are about 2 years and 4 months old. My d3400 I have upfront seems to be doing good charge wise, but it looks to me like it has leaked, which these batteries are not supposed to do. My mazda3 doesnt charge above 14.2 due to the way mazda made the alts and even my mechman. I put both batteries on my intellecharger almost every night to make sure they are topped off for a long life span. Let me know what you think of the pictures, it appears something is leaking from the cracks, it has stained into the plastic even after cleaning it, and the stickers all fell apart. I really dont wanna have to pay to ship 2 batteries, but if its an issue I guess I will. Thanks D3400 Pictures (Sits in the engine bay protected by plastic Coverings)
  17. perhaps they should go to the string for the d3100's like on the d3400, I would feel safer with that too
  18. Honestly from what I can see these subs dont care how much power you throw at them. if its below 1500 for a pair, even if its clipped, they seem that they will hold up fine, but you need a top notch electrical, they eat power, just like any sub you want to slam, any more and make sure they are getting clean power, mine barely warm up from driving them for 20+ minutes full tilt, my amp stays cold, if your clipping the shit out of them they will get hot
