correction. The drunk drivers insurance goes up. It was parked and I wasn't even in the truck. I know a few people that work out of there garages in Georgia that do good work to. I dont know what he should buy with out knowing the vehicle. yes people in 1979 had to wait 5 minutes for there car to warm up. Little less in summer time. ive owned dozens of old v8s and even the crate motors needed pumped. it gets worse when there built to. You could Check for vacuum leaks Check the fuel line Check the fuel filter Check the the thermostat. Simply pull it and put it in a bowl of water on the stove with a cooking themamiter. check the thermometer when it opens. if its open and not closed its broke get a new one. if it never opens its broke to. check your chock check your primary's take some starting fluid and spray it around your heads and intake manifold If the engines idel increases then you might have a leak there. or your just getting starting fluid into the carb so pay attion. check your kick down cable and make sure its adjusted correctly. check your throttle cable. also with the car off. have some one floor the throttle. while its to the floor look down the the carb. is the butterfly past open or not open all the way?
